Clinton, Obama predict eventual unity
Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 10:33 PM by andym
Both are unifiers after all :)
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080328/ap_on_el_pr/democrats_party_unity

from the article:

They may bicker daily over issues, character and innuendo, but both Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama appear to agree on one thing: Democratic voters will coalesce around a nominee and carry him or her to victory in November over Republican John McCain...........

"Every time we have a vigorous contest like we're having this primary election, people get intense. Senator Obama has intense support. I have intense support. It's exciting because people want to be involved. But, the differences ... pale in comparison to the differences between us and Senator McCain."
..................

"There are going to be some bruised feelings, whoever the nominee is. We are going to have to come together and remind ourselves that there is a heck of a lot bigger difference between either Senator Clinton or myself, and John McCain," Obama said....."I think short term, there is going to be work to do for the nominee to bring the party back together again. People feel pretty passionate about their respective candidates. I appreciate that, and I understand it," Obama said......

"I intend to do everything I can to make sure we have a unified Democratic Party," she (Clinton) said. "When this contest is over and we have a nominee, we're going to close ranks. We're going to be united ... The most important goal for us is to put a Democrat back in the White House.

1. She went from "I am honored" to "shame on you" in the space of two days last time
we had an outbreak of detente.

Meantime, while she was playing good citizen today, her surrogates were all over the place today screaming about MI and Fl and how Obama is disenfranchising voters in key swing states.

One candidate is about all about unifying, the other occasionally plays a unifier on TV.

5. I think she is wrong , I think the Hillary voters will never go
for Barry, even if she is on his ticket. No one I know would help him get the Presidency. He has done too much to discredit her and his supporters are worse. Barry and is fans are for certain not the uniter's. He has alienated so many people that he can never win.

7. Then shame on them...
You talk about "alienation" like she never made the "experience" comment, or the "shame on you" comment, or the 3am ad. If a Democrat doesn't vote or votes for McCain then they must have had their head in the sand for the last 8 years, you know, some shit has happened..

If she really feels this way then she should also realize that going forward with her campaign will do nothing but harm the party and probably our Democratic Nominee Barack Obama.
