Thom Hartmann is talking about what might happen if
Edited on Tue Mar-25-08 12:26 PM by SharonRB
there's no winner by the time we get to the convention.

Talking about how superdelegates should vote before the convention, right after all of the primaries are over. He says they should have their own primary so things can be settled before the convention.

1. Thom's a great guy
and I know he doesn't want to take sides but the sky won't fall. Obama is within 10 of Hillary in PA. Hillary's Bosnia flub is costing her momentum. Thom should just focus on the stories of the day, he doesn't have to take sides and he doesn't have to get dems to get all fretty about a contested nomination. If the super's are that stupid then we don't deserve the presidency in Nov

Hartmann's A Clown
He has the least entertaining show on Air America. Does anyone listen to this guy. Randi Rhodes is a whack job but at least she's entertaining.

13. Boring!!!
Because Thom Hartmann’s a bore, I’m a troll. Don’t think so Clyde. I listened to Al (and will probably vote for him) everyday he was on and even subscribed to his podcasts. Stephanie Miller is one of my favorite liberal hosts and I catch Ed Schultz’s show at least 2 or 3 times a week. I think I said in my post that I find Randi Rhodes entertaining. My problem with Hartmann isn’t his politics, I agree with that. It’s his personality, or lack thereof.

15. Perhaps you're just annoyed...
because Thom was talking about the large numbers of Republicans who were directed by Rush to vote for Hillary.

17. That's your problem ...
you don't know of a clown when you hear one. The clown is Stephanie Miller and Ed doesn't know what in the hell he is talking about most of the time...

6. Thom may not have the entertainment factor of Randi,
but I think he's the smartest guy on Air America. He knows so much about so many topics and is very well-informed. Rachel may be the only other one who even comes close to his intellect.

8. Yes lots of us do. He was removed from my local station
and they got so many protests that they had to bring him back.

You come in here with a low post count and disparage one of the better progressive minds on the planet.. Enjoy your stay... troll, or is it, clown.

21. Are you sure you aren't projecting Rush Limbaugh there on
Hartmann? Have you even bothered to listen to his show and follow up on his sources? I think you will find that he is not a clown. As far as being entertaining, it's not his job. His job is to make his listeners think. If you really listened to him, it might make you think for a change too. I dare you to call up Randi Rhodes and tell her what you just said about her. I'm sure you will not only be entertained but you will get wacked. Oooh, it hurts!

22. Can I say ,do you offer any facts for your views before I call you a troll?
I've been listening to Hartmann since the IEAmerica days and I will admit that he has been a lot more tounge-tied, repetitive and distracted in the last few years. Considering all he's involved with, I cut him some slack for that. The only time I tune him out is when he tries to debate RW assholes who can't accept logical arguments or when he plays on the sound bites and talking points that become meaningless with repetition. I don't listen to progressive radio just for entertainment. Entertainment I can get by zoning out in front of the boob tube. Progressive (aka: intelligent) talk radio gives me the chance to understand how other people think and hear an informed opinion about what really matters.

5. They should have already voted...by secret ballot
... then there would be no arm-twisting..

They should have selected their choice as soon as there were 2 candidates..and as soon as it was evident that neither could mathematically GET to 2024, they should have "opened the envelopes" and let everyone see who is really ahead..

16. Either way this SHOULD get done ...
no later than the beginning of June ...

That is the last primary, June 4, I think ...

I like Howard Dean a lot, and now is the time for him to step up ...

The math is the math ...

He needs to put his foot down and tell every SD that at a set date in the second week of June, with all the primaries done, all the pledged delegates proportioned, the popular vote in, no more votes or pledged delegates in play, that the SDs need to make a call one way or another with their votes ...

It can and SHOULD be ended there, if Hill doesn't do the right thing and bow out earlier ...
