What would be your solution to this problem?

I think that both candidates are still in the race for the nomination. If Clinton was to drop out now, while she still has a chance, she would be letting down her supporters who donated millions to her campaign. The same could be said for Obama. Besides offering the vice presidency to his/her opponent, is there a face saving solution to this problem before it gets to the point where the democrats deliver the general election to the repugs on a silver platter.

Has there been such a close race in the Democratic Primaries in living memory?

Hillary can not make up the difference in Popular Vote or Delegates. Who cares about saving face? I just want to save this election.

just kidding. How about they stop with the negative campaigning and stop tearing each other down and start focusing on issues and differences in policy and start campaigning against McCain (showing why they are the stronger GE candidate)--- then let the rest of the primary process play out.

But how do you control the media from blowing things out of proportion with the intention of creating controversy with either side? They have already issued statements (earlier in the campaign) saying that they respect each other and would like to focus on the defeating the republicans.

the political process is a messy battle, not always because of the candidates but because of the tv ratings. Sex/Lies/Violence/Bad things in general make for good tv. but the politicians do have control over the type of adds they pay for and what they say while on the stump.

Race isn't 'close', because Hillary has NO CHANCE of catching up in number of pledged delegates.

head of Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, which Kennedy heads now? Senate Majority Leader (though I think I read she'd have to be voted in for that:shrug:), something that would appease her.

say in unison "Joe was right!" and "I agree with Joe!" and then walk off the stage.

Joe could be a one-termer just to get the country past the rough spots, then hand the reins to Barack. HRC could just quietly decide not to run again, saving face because she'd be Sen Maj Ldr.

15. someone should tell her that her dignity is at stake and go over this

acknowledging that life isn't fair and you don't always get what you want. If I had raised zillions of her, I would be mucho pissed and speaking to her about it. Money needs to dry up and force her to see the truth. Short of having to make cupcakes herself, that is what its going to take. She has lost touch with inevitability, hence the changing scenarios about winning. I want the SD to commit and show her to the door themselves.
