Here's the reasoning, and McPeake drew the appropriate parallel.

And while we're on the subject of Richardson... Or as clinton surrogates suggest, should we call him Judas? That's far worse than what is being suggested of bill.

I can already see problems coming when whichever dem candidate wins the presidency, and some of us start criticizing them when they do things that we generally disagree with... Some people will act just like freepers and other Bush supporters... No matter what our candidate does wrong, we have to stick by them and that sort of crap will be floating around here, hope it doesn't dominate.

and then the supporters of those campaigns are not holding them accountable for their words.

President Clinton should clarify, apologize or just hush because they have been saying things in that campaign that are very bad for the Democrats in general. If you sling poo you must expect to get some on you.

36. Current attack meme lie number One:
"Hillary has no chance of winning"

which feeds into current attack meme lie Number Two:

"Hillary must now only be in this to make Barack Obama lose the election" (so she can run in 2012)

which feeds into current attack meme lie Number Three:

"Hillary really wants McCain to become President and hopes to be in his Administration"

These are the current talking points being used to take down Clinton, they have been seeded into the echo chamber. It doesn't matter that they are lies, they are good ways of tearing Hillary Clinton down.

These smear talking points ARE a scortched earth policy, because they insult the intelligence (literally) of the half of the Democratic Party that wants Hillary Clinton to win the nomination and become our candidate in the Fall Election. Repeatedly call the Democrat who half of the Democrats in the nation want as President a complete traitor and double agent working for the Republicans, and see how easy it will be to win Clinton supporters over to even vote for Obama in November if he becomes our nominee, let alone actively work hard to get him elected. Good luck with that.

I would work for Obama because I know how important a Democratic victory is in the Fall. The inverse should also be obvious to Obama supporters who are recklessly tearing the party apart with their constand demonization of a Democrat who has massive grass roots support. McCain wins a majority of Latino votes when he runs in Arizona. Latinos overwhelmingly supported Hillary Clinton OVER Bill Richardson when he was still in the race. And then there are female voters who see Hillary being taken down with every trick in the book and don't exactly like the implications of that. I am not even bothering to talk about white voters in general.

It is the same passive aggressive campaign being waged against Hillary Clinton on discussion boards across the nation. People honestly prefer Obama over Clinton for any number of reasons, and then they go in for the kill. The passive aggressive part is the constant accusation that Clinton is doing terrible things that in fact THEY are doing with their accusations. Accusing Hillary Clinton of wanting to divide the Democratic Party so that she can throw the election to McCain IS dividing the Democratic Party, and that MAY throw the election to McCain.

47. Insult your intelligence? Are you kidding me?
Is it not insulting to your intelligence to imply that Obama DOES NOT want to cover millions of people with his healthcare plan?

Is it not insulting to your intelligence to play the "we're gonna get hit again" card against a fellow Democrat?

Is it not insulting to your intelligence to repeatedly endorse the GOP candidate and then lie about doing so?

Is it not insulting to your intelligence to pretend that some states "count" and others do not?

Is it not insulting to your intelligence to create a bogus division between "caucus" delegates and "primary" delegates?

Is it not insulting to your intelligence to use state primary results to predict whether a candidate can win that state in the general election?

Is it not insulting to your intelligence to pretend that there is some determined number known as the "popular vote" in a set of mixed primaries and caucuses?

Is it not insulting to your intelligence to attempt to seat delegates from two bogus elections, work to prevent legitimate revotes and then blame the opposition?

And finally

Is it not insulting to your intelligence for your candidate to pretend that she didn't know damn good and well EXACTLY what she was doing when she voted to cede Congress' authority to declare war to a band of twisted psychopaths?

Seriously, if your intelligence hasn't been insulted by now, I'd say it's pretty much immune to anything the Obama camp could say.

When he said wouldn't it be great if we had two people in the general election who loved this country, he explicitly noted that there was a possibility that this wouldn't be the case. The only possible races are McCain vs Clinton and McCain vs Obama.

He said it. Don't insult our intelligence.

Advisers to both fault Obama camp

Advisers to Both Clinton and Obama Fault Obama Camp for Criticism of Former President

DARLENE SUPERVILLE
AP News

Mar 23, 2008 13:43 EST

Prominent supporters of Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama on Sunday both faulted Obama's campaign for allowing a retired general and backer of the Illinois senator to equate comments by Clinton's husband to McCarthyism.

"I don't believe President Clinton was implying that," said New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, a former presidential candidate who endorsed Obama last week. "But the point here ... is that the campaign has gotten too negative — too many personal attacks, too much negativity that is not resounding with the public."

Asked whether Obama's campaign was being too negative in accusing former President Clinton of McCarthyism, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, a Clinton supporter, said, "Of course ... the Obama campaign tries to have it both ways," he said.

Rendell said Bill Clinton was saying what many people think, that the campaign should focus on the economy, health care and the candidates' experience, for example, and not on race and other distractions.

"And instead they launch this all-out attack trying to take an inference out of President Clinton's words that no fair person could take," Rendell said. "It's an example of the negativity that Governor Richardson is talking about...

"I think it would be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country. And people could actually ask themselves who is right on these issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics."
