A Little Machiavellian Thinking........
I was talking with my boyfriend a short while ago about who McCain would likely pick as Vice President. I brought up Lieberman because Lieberman's been seen with McCain so much on his trip abroad and campaigned for him on various stops. My boyfriend shook his head, and said, "Charlie Crist because of Florida." I said, "I don't think that would be possible because Crist's gay and that would depress the Republican base from coming out to vote for McCain."

We tossed ideas back and forth. Then my boyfriend said with a grin, "Jeb Bush." I grinned as well and said, "That'd be the perfect ticket for McCain for us. Who wants another Bush in the White House? You know, we should do some concern trolling on the conservative blogs and suggest, 'You know, it wouldn't be so bad to have someone of Jeb Bush's stature in the White House as Vice President, and McCain really should pick him.'"

What do you think? The Bush name is now anathema to Americans. I know that Americans will come out in droves to prevent another Bush in the White House. It's just some wild tossing of ideas around tonight.

2. Colin Powell not Jethro
Edited on Sat Mar-22-08 10:16 PM by ColbertWatcher
More of the Same McCain will pick Powell, not Jethro.

Remember what the GOP did after Obama started getting news? Suddenly Alan Keyes was running for president!

The GOP are simple creatures. It will either be Powell or another black republican, like Michael Steele.

6. Because there's a remote chance they could "win"
like Dubya did. I don't think a Bush should ever be allowed near the presidency ever again.

11. A few weeks ago I threw out Jeb Bush as the ultimate f-you to Americans.
Pissing off Democrats is actually the only Republican strategy remaining, so, I wouldn't be at all surprised if McCain can't resist the temptation.
