There's a reason I haven't openly supported either candidate.
So I haven't come out and said who I support. There's a reason for that.

It's not that I particularly dislike Clinton and/or Obama. Granted, both of them have done a few things to piss me off, but almost no politicians match exactly with my politics (I'm too liberal for most of the American Democratic party and the Canadian Liberal Party).

It's all the baggage and extra meaning (some of) you people attach to someone's choice of candidate. Like, did you know, if you're an Obama supporter, you're probably sexist (or at least a bad feminist), and a homophobe (or at least a bad gay)? And if you support Hillary, you might be a racist. Not saying that racism, sexism, and homophobia aren't real (they are), but it gets to be a little much. Also, the fact that both sides will take ANYTHING and use it as proof that the other candidate is the devil incarnate is a little juvenile, at best. Quite frankly, I don't like it when people are mean, and I'm sick of people throwing poo in GD-P (and pretty much every other forum) like a bunch of monkeys. So quit it.

Heck, why am I even ranting about this? I'm under 18 and I live in Canada, for Pete's sake!

2. I met Jack Layton the other day
I heard him speak at the Take Back America conference. He spoke about NAFTA and said it should not be a model for future trade deals. He said that future trade pacts needed to benefit workers more than companies. He also said that trade pacts between countries needed to include environmental and labor standards.

He also mentioned that Canadians are working five weeks more a year than they did nine years ago. But like elsewhere, overall families are making less money than they did nine years ago. It was really refreshing to hear a politician talk about issues that mattered rather than flinging poo.

At the Tuesday lunch session SharonRB and I shared a table with Layton and his wife Olivia Chow and others. Not surprisingly the topic around the table was the environment. It was a really interesting conversation and I wish I had taken notes.

Your personal politics may be too liberal for the NDP but Layton seems to be a move in the right direction.

3. Yeah, I like the NDP.
It bugs me how they'll never be the party in power, at least not federally. But the seats in parliament are good.
