New Orleans enthusiasm for Kerry
I've been seeing a lot of Kerry signs/stickers in New Orleans lately; just about every day I see a car in uptown N.O. with a Kerry sticker. That wasn't the case for Gore four years ago. I think this is a good sign.

Anyyone else on the DU from N.O.?

1. yes I am
I'm actually on the Northshore so haven't seen too many Kerry bumper stickers yet. I got someone registered to vote for Kerry though so it's a start. Shrub hasn't treated us well at all so I'm hoping the die-hard GOP will just stay home.

I wouldn't expect to see support for Kerry over there. That's "Duke country."

I'm starting to see Bush signs and stickers in Jefferson Parish too. But that doesn't surprise me either.

That a lot of Kerry's potential--and many already-committed--supporters are part of 2004's version of the "Silent Majority"...they're out there; you're only starting to hear from them now. Many you won't even hear from...until they cast their votes on Nov. 2. Then the Silent Majority of 2004 will speak, and with a VERY LOUD voice, indeed!:D

:kick:

B-)

3. me to
I live uptown and while I don't see a whole lot of Kerry (or Bush) stuff in my neighborhood, I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of Kerry buttons and stickers at Jazzfest last weekend.

9. Carlos Santana dedicated
a song to bush* last Friday..."Change your evil ways". A lot of the other musicians had other anti-bush* messages as well.

5. I see more Dean and Kucinich stickers here in Salt Lake City.
Saw one Bush sticker out in the suburbs. But most I see are for Dean and Kucinich, with only a few being for Kerry.

7. New Orleans
I have noticed that too. Unfortunately, there are nearly as many people in Jefferson parish and St. Tammany parishes that are just as hard line for shrub. We gotta lot of work to do to win it...

10. Here at Loyola...
...we students have a bunch of Kerry signs and bumper stickers on the windowsills. A GMC Sierra in the horseshoe out front had a John Kerry sticker and "Honor 9/11: Vote Kerry November 2" sticker on it. I really dug catching that.

Later.

11. I just read an article
WHich indicates that Kerry is heavily targetting Louisiana, and trying to present a more conservative image in that state to woo voters.
