Serious question - Is Barak losing ground?
I've been hearing so damn many different opinions over the past several days, and the posts on DU GD-P have been no help at all, that I am now throughly confused. Would some of you more politically intelligent people help to unconfuse me (and give me some hope).

P.S.: I can't stand HRC. I live in PA and will vote for Obama in the primary. I'm not going to make to much of this observation but I have noticed that the few bumper stickers that I've seen over the past several weeks have all been for Obama. And I'm bloody pissed off that Ravenstall, Onorato, Rendell and the Pittsburgh PG have all come out in support of HRC.

2. Don't worry too much - there's a month until the PA primary
A month is an eternity in politics. Yes, the Wright controversy dinged Obama a bit. But he's got time to repair that damage. And several of the other states after PA favor Obama.

31. OBAMA does NOT represent me
For one point....he is in favor of letting illegal aliens have drivers licenses. If he had a BRAIN....he would do what Oregon just did!

Don't let illegals have drivers licenses.

3. I've seen ONLY Obama stickers in Southeastern PA...
Obama is well supported in the Philly burbs, and The Speech was celebrated and treasured here. Someone on Anderson Cooper's show last night said PA will be the testing ground ~ we weren't expected to win but if we close the gap, that'll be a good sign that the campaign is on track. We'll know April 22 I guess.

32. North Carolina is getting closer, also West Virginia is going to vote Hillary
Last I saw they were within the margin of error of each other in NC, and the last poll on WV looked solid Clinton.

I wish it was over.

5. Yes he is
But, his campaign is fairly low key right now, and I think they're waiting for the dust to settle over the Wright matter. Personally, I think the left needs to point out how in bed Republicans are with right wing preachers who advocated everything from terrorism to jail for women who have abortions and who play the race card against black preachers, whether it's MLK, Jessie Jackson, or Jeremiah Wright.

9. I Attended A Local Region Obama Meeting Last Night That Was Very Interesting...
The staffer from national campaign said not to pay attention to the polls for the next couple of days. News in the next few days will show Obama a lot more competitive here in PA than most pundits anticipate.

10. In the minds of republicans such as 'morning joe.'
He just said, "Indies are leaving Obama in droves." We shall see. Polls go up, polls go down and I certainly don't live by polls. In fact, I hate them, even if they have my candidate up -- I just don't trust them at all.

Joey the Scar, Tucker and Pat Buchanan -- all republicans -- are three of the more disgusting talking heads.

15. You know it!
Tucker said earlier that the Republicans want Hillary against McCain in November, as opposed to Senator Obama, because she will be easier to beat. Joey the Scar thinks Senator Obama will be easier to beat, but he's is just stupid and biased, and will probably change his mind tomorrow. LOL!

11. Naturally, the ones that are claiming that
so loudly are the same ones who are losing so badly.

I'd say do your own homework, look for facts, not hype.
Barack did get taken down a couple of points by all
the Hillary attacks but he has fought back brilliantly.
At this exact moment, the polls are in flux..
which is why you're hearing all the squawking.

The most foolish thing I see is that Hillary supporters seem
to think they are helping their candidate by going negative
(and some Obama fans too) when what really moves the
polls is a great unifying positive strategy. The truth is Hillary
has not done herself any favors with all the blowback she's
incurred on herself.

But again, don't take my word or anyone elses... we're all
cheering on our respective candidates. If you want Obama
to gain ground, you know in your heart what to do.

this past month. McCain just passed up BOTH Senators Obama and Clinton. If this silliness keeps up, McCain gains. We lose. This is not rocket science.

17. Right now, yes. But he has time to recover
Let's keep posting on blogs and news websites defending him, make phone calls to PA, go canvassing if we can, talk to our friends and family and try to reassure them that Barack does not share any of his pastor's views (which should be obvious) and that most of Wright's sermons were not like the few clips we have seen. I am cautiously optimistic that he can get through this and bounce back. In 1992, Bill Clinton rebounded during the primaries after the revelations about Gennifer Flowers...Obama hasn't even done anything wrong, and hopefully people will eventually recognize that. "Morning Joe" this morning is somewhat encouraging...they seem to finally be talking about this in a more logical and understanding way.

26. There's no way to tell yet.
Day-to-day polls are meaningless. All that matters is how the remaining primaries are divvied up, and what happens at the convention. If he "loses ground," but remains significantly ahead, did the tree actually fall?

Of course, there's the notion of long-term damage, which is either a negligible possibility or a certainty, depending on which candidate one supports. If Obama can somehow screw up badly enough for the MSM to paint McCain as more trustworthy/likeable, well, America is over.

34. Wait & Watch
Its been a tough week for BO but there are some silver linings here:

1. Obama can no longer be called a muslim, madrassa educated islamic fundamentalist.

2. This Wright blowup would have come about at sometime during the whole election process. Its good that it has come out now when there is a large gap b/w primaries and Obama has enough time to build a response (as he is very effectively doing) and when he has already taken the lead.

3. HRC papers will start taking the lime-light soon and I am just DROOLING with anticipation for when she releases her tax returns a few days before the PA nomination.

4. Obama was expected to lose PA anyways, so he doesn't have too much to lose right now. He can play for all w/o worrying about the results.

Think strategic always. This is the war we are waging, we can afford to lose an occasional battle to keep us sharp.

Gotta get to that phone and contact everyone you know. See where they're standing and what you can do to influence him.

Truthfully, he has lost ground. He's gaining it back and will gain it back and then some once the Clintons (finally) release their tax returns.
