we need to take some of this great energy and talk to Independents and teetering Republicans. The fact is, either Democratic candidate is better than McCain. We need to get outta here and hit the street and start talking to the folks who will make the difference in November.
I man an information table every weekend and I love talking to people who agree with me. It's nice, cozy, comfortable. But I need to catch those folks who are undecided and might go for McCain. I want to connect their pocketbooks with this war. It is not hard to do up here in New Hampshire but it needs to be done. You have to connect the dots for people. You have to give them information...Last election (2006) when we started to inform people that the war in Iraq was costing them $12B a month, they were shocked. I can't tell you...people stopped dead in their tracks, jaws dropped. I was amazed that people didn't know this, but they didn't. As a result of the education, we defeated an entrenched pro-war Republican for Congress who had a family political dynasty (Charlie Bass). It can be done and it has to happen and it takes effort and energy.
I love the debate here (most of the time) but, folks, we have to get out there. We can't keep preaching to the choir. Every person you engage who is not like minded may make a difference in November. We can do this at work, among our friends or on the internet, but we need to get out of ourselves and get going!
Please don't give me wise-assed responses...you know I'm right! :)
