so, i'm getting some of that "hope"
Edited on Wed Mar-19-08 01:50 PM by shugah
i listened to Obama's speech yesterday, and i was completely awed. i knew he was going to give a good speech - he had to, didn't he? what i didn't expect was the jaw-dropping speech he did give. i couldn't believe it!

i have not been pro (or anti) either of the 2 remaining candidates, but after Obama's speech i actually got a sense of that hope he is always talking about. i'm pretty cynical about politics, so to listen to a politician's speech and feel so grateful (yes, grateful) to hear some truth is kind of a shock to me. and a day later even after the talking heads have gone back to spouting the same old bile (did they not listen to the speech?), i'm still feeling a little bit hopeful that maybe, just maybe we will get it right this time...

i think that the candidate who stands to say the sort of things that have to be said, but must never be said if he wants to be elected is one hell of a candidate! Obama can count on my vote and my support.

how do i get the pony? ;-)

edit: had to finish the post

7. Yuck. I'm already turned off by the use of the word "grow" in the headline.
yuck yuck yuck.

Please don't pile on me here. It's really nothing against Obama, just the business world in general for making the use of "grow" in this way seem normal

3. The purpose of that flowery speech was to cover his ass. It had no
other significance.

8. well, i hope it did cover his ass
but it did have more significance to me. racism is a real problem in this country that no one seems to want to talk about - except Barack Obama. at least so far he is the only one i have heard address it in any meaningful way. it has given me some hope, and i kind of like that.

10. I guess we don't have enough problems to worry about, might as
well toss in the racial divide too & tackle that one as well, Obama seems to think he's up for it.
