Bill Clinton's Image Damaged by Campaign Role
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0308/9066.html

Bill Clinton’s reentry into the political arena appears to have come at some cost to his legacy. New polling now suggests that Clinton’s involvement in the Democratic nomination battle between his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Barack Obama, has significantly tarnished the former president’s image.

A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released Thursday found that more Americans view Bill Clinton negatively than positively, 45 to 42 percent. It marked the first time since January 2002 that a plurality of Americans disapproved of the former president. One month earlier, The Gallup Poll found that nearly as many Americans had an unfavorable as favorable view of Bill Clinton—for the first time in nearly five years.

Presidential historians said Clinton’s return to partisan politics made it likely that public perception of the former president would suffer.

"There is a certain historical glow that surrounds a president as some of his historical battles become more distant. Clinton getting back in the mud again makes him a much more partisan figure,” said Allan Lichtman, a presidential historian at American University. "And it’s not like it’s been an acclaimed experience for him."

His return to elected politics changed all that. In New Hampshire, he referred to Obama’s early opposition to the Iraq war as the “biggest fairy tale I've ever seen,” a remark that would come to be seen by many as an attempt to belittle Obama. He later accused Obama’s staff of voter suppression in Nevada—a sensitive charge in Democratic circles.

Clinton’s low point came in South Carolina, where he drew criticism for comparing Obama’s candidacy to Jesse Jackson, a remark widely viewed as an attempt to pigeonhole Obama as a candidate who appeals largely to black voters. Clinton also took on a much more adversarial role with the media, a posture unseen since his years in the White House.

5. Sorry, you're wrong
I was a vocal supporter and defender of Bill Clinton--until Hillary's presidential campaign. I am not alone.

8. you're a doofus....
prior to his newly acquired pathology of foot-in-mouth disease, he enjoyed favorability ratings in the high 60's. Now that his unfavorables outweigh his favorables, that is not due to Republican discontent, that's coming from within the party.

9. Hsu's illustrious past
One of Clinton's liabilities is Norman Hsu... The question is why hasn't the MSM taken a real hard look at Norman Hsu's backround? A con man and thief that had a "meteroric rise on the Democratic political scene". ROFLMAO really? Actually idiot Norman's picture as a youngster appears on an FBI B&W surveillance telephoto picture tagged (unidentified associates) of a NYC street gang tied to Chinese Organized crime based in the US...reference U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. Asian Organized Crime (1984,1989, 1993). . Btw Norman did also funnel funds to Sen Barrak Obama's campaign...Interesting tidbit.. who directed Norman too the then freshman Sen Obama? .... ding ding ding... The Clinton's. No one has the history to a certain err element of ready, willing & able philantropists of an asian persuasion then the Clinton's. A walk through recent history may be in order for you youngsters.

Rendell had said last week he planned to keep nearly $40,000 of Hsu's money even though he was wanted for failing to appear for sentencing after pleading no contest to a felony charge of bilking investors out of $1 million.

"Though Norman is my friend, and remains so, his failure to appear casts a new light on his assertions regarding the original case," Rendell said in a statement before Hsu's arrest Thursday. "As a result, I will follow other elected officials and donate the money he contributed to me to charity."

Reports are that former NY Chinatown Tong leader turned federal Informant Wing Yeung Chan has recently been escorted in and out of his facility by the US Marshall Service... I wonder if Chan Wing is being used to verify anything that Norman has reportedly told the told the US Attorney?

A closer look at the political activity of those Hsu donors suggests their contributions to Clinton's presidential campaign did not mark their first donations to the senator from New York. Hsu's donors gave $256,945 to Clinton's senate campaign since 2005, and $40,000 to her political action committee, "Hill Pac" during that period.

Some of that money may have eventually found its way into Clinton's presidential accounts, because she transfered about $10 million from her senate fund into her presidential coffers.

Asked if the campaign was considering returning any of that additional money, campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson said the campaign was not. "We didn't keep track of the contributions in the same way so we do not know which contributions to credit to Mr. Hsu," Wolfson said.

10. Partial List of Clinton library donors reveals foreign governments & Saudi royal family
No wonder the Clintons do not want to reveal the donor list for the Clinton presidential library. I found on line a story by Josh Gerstein of the New York Sun from 2004 in which he disclosed a number of the Clinton library donors. He found the donors on a 3rd floor computer at the Clinton Library, which has since been removed.

You can go to the article at www.nysun.com/article/5152

Why isn't the mainstream media discussing this article and the donor list?

Donors giving $1 million or more included:
Saudi royal family
Governments of Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, Brunei & Taiwan
Prime Minister of Lebanon
Arab businessmen Abdullah Al-Dabbagh, Nasser Al-Rashid and Walid Juffali
Wal-Mart heiress Alice Walton

Donors giving $100,000 to $500,000 included:
King of Morocco, Mohammed VI
Pakistani-American businessman Farooq Bajwa
US-Islamic World Conference

Marc Rich's ex-wife, Denise, gave $450,000 to the Clinton Foundation. Bill Clinton pardoned Marc Rich just before leaving office in 2000.

As to secrecy of the donors list, Bill Clinton allowed portions of the donors list to be sold thru a data company, InfoUSA, headed by CEO Vin Gupta, who gave over $1 million. Gupta then "gifted" Bill Clinton 100,000 shares of InfoUSA options.

Current law treats presidential libraries like nonprofit groups - no caps on donations, no mandatory disclosure and no ban on donations by corporations and foreigners. Senators John Cornyn and Barack Obama co-sponsored a bill to require disclosure of any donations over $200. A similar bill passed the house but the Obama sponsored bill stalled in Congress.

What exactly do these mid-east governments expect in return? How will these donations influence a Clinton White House? NOW DO YOU SEE WHY THE CLINTONS SHOULD REVEAL THE ENTIRE CLINTON LIBRARY DONOR LIST?
