I'm going crazy if anyone cares
I am sure it's been hashed and hashed but i've been away from the boards for a couple of weeks.

I am going to go crazy if I don't find out Kerry's running mate. Everyone knows curiosity killed the cat so I wish they would let us in!

What is the closest to the exact date it might be announced? And who are the likeliest candidates?

Is anyone else chomping at the bit?

1. I care and I there with you
Just to let you know how much I hate suspense, I read the last page of any book I'm reading just to know if my hero or heroine live. Yeah, I'm sick

2. Right there with you. We'll probably know by late May (or sooner)...

A Quick and Quiet Search to Fill the Democratic Ticket
Senator John Kerry has told associates that he wants to select a running mate within eight weeks, an accelerated schedule intended to help him raise money and respond to a bombardment of attacks from President Bush...

By that 8-week timetable announced on April 4, that would make it late May-early June that the VP pick will be made. My best guess is that it will be before Memorial Day Weekend on May 29-31. (But it could happen sooner!)

5. actually,
just about a couple of days after this article, another one appeared which said the announcement will not be made until late and just before the convention. it said kerry had not even really gotten into working through it himself yet. so we wont really know anything until the announcement is actually made. we can then look back on all the articles and stories about vps to see which were accurate and not.

3. Senator Kerry said the announcement will be made
between now and the convention. so within the next 3 months i guess ? but i know how you feel. i wonder all the time what is going on in kerry's head on this issue.does he have an idea of what message or geography the vp should represent? and you know how much he loves to think about every little detail so i know he will put a lot of thought into this. but he has been through the vp thing himself in 2000 so he knows how important it is to conduct the process in a way that respects the process itself and all the possible vp choices.

7. i'm prolly the only one who thinks this, but i hope he doesn't say
anything until the night of the convention. i hope it doesn't leak out either. i want it to be a complete surprise. i think it will give the convention more oomph.

plus, the longer he waits on announcing his running mate, the less time the repugs have of tearing his veep down.

9. They usually wait until the third night of the convention,
They usually wait until the third night of the convention, to get people to tune in.

So probably June 28, 2004, we'll find out the runningmate.
