Chris Matthews--Tweety--was actually defending Obama this morning...WTF?
He was talking to "morning Joe" and he actually made sense. I was shocked, I tell you, shocked. Maybe Tweety does better in the morning than at night. Anybody catch it this morning?

4. I like him...usually
He sometimes pisses me off but usually I like him.

His book was one of the first political books I read (assigned reading for AP government class in high school) so I guess I understood where he was coming from before I even started watching him on TV.

8. lol
well, I would say that depends on what day. Some days you may be in better company than others. Tweety is like a Cracker Jack Box. You never know what prize you'll get.

13. No you're not
I frequently disagree with what he says, but I think his show is one of the most informative shows now on. You can't dispute his knowledge of the political arena. Plus, every once in awhile, he gets it spot on.

14. No, I like him too
even though he hates Hillary and I love Hillary. I have his books, I have respect for his history in politics. He feels passionately about the business he is in. When not hating Hillary, he usually does a decent job.

18. I like him usually
Unlike some people here I don't go ape-sh*t and accuse him of being a comminazi when he occasionally expresses an opinion that I happen to disagree with.

The only thing he wanted was a free lunch in the Caf both days... A great Guy,who, it goes without saying, has a better Democratic/Progressive Vitae' than anyone on DU.

5. He actually said that many
people who sit on church pews don't always agree with their preachers and even though you may be friends with someone--as he and Scarborough are-they too, don't always agree. It was weird hearing him make sense.

Being a lay member of Opus Dei and all. I'm pretty sure he isn't one of the members that straps barb wire around his thigh every day.

7. I find that the media sticks up for Obama in between primary elections...
...then right before the vote, they run with some garbage Hillary’s campaign throws at him.

Whoever the media praises before the election, is the one they want to win.

10. I don't see it that way.
I think Hill's campaign just waits to throw it right before a primary day. That's their strategy and it gets the most attention at that particular time.

9. Here are two hand-dandy media bias conspiracy theorist explanations:
Edited on Fri Mar-14-08 09:51 AM by Freddie Stubbs
1. He hates the Clintons and will say anything to defeat them.

2. He believes that Obama is the weaker candidate in November, so he want to help Obama win the nomination so that McCain will win the general election.

Maddow being a rhode scholar and having a PhD??? I thought he was going to blow, sorry if this has been talked about, but seeing his name and remembering how he talk of Rachel I thought of it again, he IS such a tweety. :eyes:

23. I heard him and it wasn't that he was defending Obama; he was speaking the truth.
Edited on Fri Mar-14-08 10:47 AM by sparosnare
He gave a rather complex example of minority issues and Obama's relationship with his pastor and how that doesn't mean he agrees with everything he says. He talked about the Kennedy's and McCarthy, about how they were all friends, Catholics, etc., but disagreed vehemently on politics. That didn't stop the Kennedy's from going to McCarthy's funeral though.

It was really good and insightful.

He has been singing the praises of Obama since he decided to run. Remember, he said he gets a "thrill up his leg" when he hears Obama speak. I wonder if anything else is affected? :wtf:
