America's Dying Democracy
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 07:12 PM by SunsetDreams
Back in 2000, we all had hopes that we would see 2 back to back Democratic Presidents. Al Gore should have won that presidency hands down, we know this because the next year after all the votes were counted, Al Gore was the rightful winner, but alas it was too late. GW Bush stole the election in Florida, and American Democracy began a long painful path towards destruction.

We have been lied to, over and over again. War was more important, than the American people. The unemployment rate has skyrocketed. The economy is spiraling out of control, families are barely staying above the fray, while others slip into an abyss of no return. Gas prices, groceries, mortgages, more homeless, people living in multiple family households, just to get by. Americans are in deep debt, using credit cards to pay bills because their salary no longer keeps up with inflation.

Where is our so called President? We have fallen on his deaf ears. He is too busy to care, hell bent on continuing a war that should have never been. The things that we have done to the Iraqi people, frankly pale in comparison to Saddam Hussein. We have murdered their husbands, wives, children, uncles, aunts, cousins, grandparents, and friends. Gone forever to them, all over a senseless war.

Thousands of American troops maimed and killed, lost forever to America’s families. Little girls and boys never to feel the warmth of their father or mother’s love, hug, gentle touch, someone to tuck them in at night, and make them feel safe from harm. Never to hear their voice again. Soldiers who have lost limbs, unable to function like they once did. Families, scared that they will never see their loved ones again.

Mothers and Fathers, having to shoulder the responsibility, of rearing their children, without their spouse, there to lend them a helpful hand.

Thousands of Americans killed on 9/11 without full retribution to this day. Dammit I want retribution, I want those suckers to pay! Instead our so called President took his eye off the real target, and our enemy still lurks.

This video says it all.

America is dying, when will we rise up and say no more? Our country is being hijacked by a privileged few who no longer listen to the American people. They ignore the basic principle of our foundation, Of the People, By The People, For The People. This administration and it’s cronies, including John McCain, do not give a damn about us.

We need a Democrat in the White House! Please don’t lose site of the battle we need to win! America needs us to rescue her!

All of you participating in character assassinations on our candidates, should step away and reflect on what’s really at risk here. If you continue doing this, I wonder who’s side you’re really on frankly.

Peace

1. Our Soldiers,
are not to blame, I want to make that clear. They are following orders from the CIC because they have no choice.

2. .......
and it sinks....

Why do positive threads sink like a lead balloon? Yet the negatives are full of helium.

3. We will come together...
...after this nasty little primary is over. Nice sentiments, though. Too many partisans pushing their agendas to get traction with this. Thanks.
