Explaining some basic logic to some HRC supporters.
This post might come across as condescending, but it really isn’t. It is meant for some HRC supports that keeps repeating the notion: “HRC beat Obama in state X, because of that Obama will lose that state to McCain”

Now let’s see if you can solve this basic logical question:
If Jack is taller than John, and John is shorter than Jenny. Who is taller Jack or Jenny?

Take your time …..

If you said Jack or Jenny, then you are one of those HRC supporters I am talking about.
The solution is: undetermined or unknown.

So if HRC beat Obama in state X that doesn’t say if Obama will lose to McCain or Beat him.
HTH

2. Poor Baby.
The FACT is that Obama will win the same big states Hillary will win. Only, he can also win some of the smaller states that she CANNOT win. Shit, even TEXAS might be in play with Obama.

7. Then I Apologize ..
I am just frustrated by the same logical error that keeps getting repeated over and over again. I still think it is not condescending though.

3. Thanks for this
I don't have a problem with Clinton supporters stating that they believe that she's the best person for the job. I don't have a problem with them thinking that she will win the nomination.

What I do take issue with is the use of flawed logic to "prove" a point.

Your post should be required reading for everybody.

4. Not everyone has "white guilt"
Elderly whites, working class whites, Asians and Hispanics won't vote for Hillary's opponent. Swartzenegger can deliver California against Obama. Obama would lose many states dominated by working class whites.

11. California won't be in play for Republicans.
Even Arnold knows better than that, what with the way the economy and the housing markets are tanking. Nice try though.

...I live in California and know the politics here. Even my long time Pubbie pals are starting to hate the Goobinator. Calif is NOT in play for the Pubbies in the GE.

California will go blue no matter if for the Queen or for Obama.

27. What a pile of shit.
You don't fucking know. That was the point of the OP, genius. It's very doubtful that if Obama is the nominee he'll lose CA, just as it's doubtful that if hilly dear is the nominee, she'll lose Illinois. The vast majority of working class whites who voted for Hilly and are caught in this disaster of an economy are very unlikely to vote for McCain.

Oh, and take your racist crap about "white guilt" to freeperville or some like bigoted place.

29. You know, when you find yourself stuck at the bottom of a deep, dark hole,
It's best to stop digging.

First you imply that people are only voting for Obama out of "white guilt", now you're implying that he can only survive in a PC environment(which, from the sound of things, you don't like either). All this sounds like racist drivel that I can find on many conservative, knuckledragging boards. Perhaps you should rethink your positions before people start to say the same about you:shrug:

39. Now that the Clinton's are "racists" the word is just another meaningless perjorative
Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 07:56 PM by billbuckhead
Hillary's opponent's "movement" has the dubious distinction of turning the word racist into the 2008 equivalent of Godwins Law.

20. They Are Beyond Logic
It's a special brand of political denial.
Many of us suffered a mild case when Dodd, Biden, DK and Edwards dropped out.
Until they did, we were nearly as partisan and hoping against all odds that somehow our chosen candidate would overcome those odds, just like the Hillerites are doing now.
The biggest difference is the depth of their denial and nastiness of their
attacks...it has no limits.

Most are on "ignore", the remaining few, like "David Ben Hur" are civil
enough and rather amusing in a case study sort of way.

32. What on earth would make the State X Democrats suddenly
decide they want 4 more years of Bush-like policies? They won't suddenly decide it doesn't matter our kids are coming back from Iraq in flag-covered boxes. It won't suddenly change that the national debt is at frightening levels, jobs are gone, homes are being foreclosed on and we're at the brink of a depression . . . all because of Republican economic policies. Just this morning Richard Shelby is on the Washington Journal defending military contracts that move jobs overseas to Airbus. Charlie Manson could run in State X as a Democrat and win.

35. This Is The Emptiest Attempt At Showing Logic I've Ever Seen.
Not that there's anything disagreeable in it, I was just expecting something a bit more than what an 8th grader could come up with logically. There was no real impactful logic at all nor powerful argument. It actually, was just quite silly. It was as if you were trying to show yourself to be some logical master or something, yet then fell totally flat by not putting anything impressive at all. I'm quite disappointed, actually, since I'm a huge fan of logic.

41. You're assuming it's rational behavior.
People keep smoking even while on oxygen with emphysema. They keep driving fast with several speeding tickets. They keep eating unhealthy foods while slowly dying from escess weight, heart disease and high blood pressure and diabetes.

People do irrational things all the time.

Supporting her isn't irrational, it's uninformed.

Pretending she can make up this loss when her fairy god mother swoops down and waves her magic wand is irrational.
