Hillary's folks now say that there are really 3 kinds of delegates
1. This who already love her a lot ("elected" delegates)

2. Those who should love her a lot but are currently misinformed ("caucus" delegates)

3. Those who will love her a lot when it comes right down to it (Super delegates)

If you don't believe, me, read the link

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/03/10/749242.aspx

But,she's a little confused and the math, no matter how she tries to fudge the numbers, doesn't quite add up.

She has a fourth category she hasn't mentioned up to now - her "imaginary" delegates:

Imagine if Florida and Michigan counted
Imagine if Obama was my running mate
Imagine if I didn't release my tax returns

2. The super delegates?
Edited on Mon Mar-10-08 07:45 PM by high density
The only reason for this split is to make up some sort of fuzzy math where she is in the lead, so the super delegates can have some sort of twisted logic to give her the nomination. But even in the new Clinton-created "primary delegates," she is trailing Obama, and she'll be even further behind in this regard as of tomorrow night.

4. I guess that's it - and maybe the Mississippi voters.

3. Actually what she keeps trying to say is...
There is only one kind of delegate: mine.

5. Update from MSNBC
At the same link as the OP

"*** UPDATE *** I did the quick math, Obama's gotten more delegates via primaries than Clinton (1086 or 1088 depending on the certified California results) to Clinton's (1074 or 1076). So clearly, the caucuses are what's helped put Obama's delegate lead nearly out of reach but even when just measuring primaries, Obama's ahead."

I'm not blaming Clinton personally...but someone needs to take her aside and explain to her what a joke her campaign is becoming.

6. Caucus delegates could swing results in tight Democratic race
The Obama campaign plans in the next few days to begin approaching the 4,207 delegates to county conventions that Mr. Edwards earned during the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses in hopes of swinging them to the Illinois senator’s side. “It’s a soft ask. It’s not edgy” or high pressure, says Jackie Norris, who is coordinating the Obama delegate process in Iowa.
