Florida Democratic revote may be by mail
http://www.sptimes.com/2008/03/07/Worldandnation/Democratic_revote_may.shtml

WASHINGTON - Forget the notion of Florida Democrats packing schools and fire halls for an Iowa-style caucus, or lining up at their local precincts to choose between Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama.

If Florida Democrats take one more shot at making their voices heard in this tick-tight race for the Democratic presidential nomination, the most likely scenario will be balloting by mail.

With Obama and Clinton nearly tied in the race for delegates, and with opportunities dwindling for either to pull away before the convention in August, pressure is building for Florida and Michigan to take a mulligan.

Both states lost their delegates for holding primary elections earlier than Democratic Party rules allowed. Thursday, U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, Florida's senior elected Democrat, reversed course and called for a new primary election.

2. That makes good sense.
It would reduce the cost and best of all, hopefully, no Diebold!

6. A wheaties box top would be okay with me. But indeed the best way
to do this is have everyone mail in a urine sample. And the winner will get to drink it all.

12. I'm sorry. It was kind of sick after re-reading it.
I've changed the rule. The winner doesn't get to drink it. But has to keep it around for the ordure, until a nominee is selected.

3. I heard this may be an option here in Michigan, too.
I would much prefer this method to a caucus. It sounds like a good plan to me. Here in Michigan, if we have jobs at all, we are struggling to hold onto them and can not afford to take off a block of time in the middle of a workday.

7. Hope so, caucuses discriminate against those with jobs, the elderly, the infirmed,
those with any sort of obligation.

4. Voting by Mail = Voter Fraud
It is a terrible idea. Might as well as vote online. You either have another full primary or you don't.

5. online would never work
disenfranchises the poor and elderly who disproportionately don't have Internet access compared to the general population.

10. Sounds great. I believe that Oregon has nothing BUT mail in votes, no election day at all.
Seems to work out OK for them.

13. Florida is a third world country; we suck at everything
The republicans have destroyed our secondary school system, our university system, the civil servant system; we can't afford property tax or insurance and soon we're going to be out of water (those of us that are not underwater). The republican legislature passed this law to move up the primaries and now they are sitting back, laughing their bastard asses off.
