The Power statement: the "monster" insult not as insulting as the rest of it.
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 02:16 PM by janesez
The ON THE RECORD part. All Hillary supporters, this is what the Obama campaign thinks of you:

"You just look at her and think, 'Ergh'. But if you are poor and she is telling you some story about how Obama is going to take your job away, maybe it will be more effective. The amount of deceit she has put forward is really unattractive."

http://thescotsman.scotsman.com/latestnews/Inside-US-poll-battle-as.3854371.jp

So according to the Obama campaign, Hillary supporters are poor, stupid, gullible, or some combination of all three.

This Ivy League-educated upper-middle class Hillary supporter would like to have a little conversation with Samantha Power. I can say "go fuck yourself" in Latin, if it helps.

The comment was directed at Hillary, not the voters she scares. Don't try to deflect it.

She is a huge ally of Indian outsourcers, and ME outsourcers. Bill did lay the way for this massive opening of Chinese trade. Hillary is lying to them about her economic policies. It's a fact. The one that needs to be told to go fuck herself is Hillary Clinton and her conniving smearing lying ass.

many feel like that.

That's why Hill has the highest negatives in of all candidates in both campaigns.

You won't be able to understand it. You will whine about how unfair it is.

But people don't vote for people that make them go 'Ergh'

the voters aren't as dumb as BO's supporters at DU.

The voters, who vote, who represent the will of the people, are turning their backs on the empty, nasty@ss empty suit.

However, Hillary is not Bill and never will be.

So when Edwards failed to get traction I gave Obama a good hard look.
Frankly, I didn't find much substance. His supporters here at DU haven't done much at all to change my mind, in fact just the opposite.

says, clearly, "IF you are poor"

not "You are poor"

And it's about Hillary's fear mongering to generic voters, not Hillary supporters.

And the amount of deceit Hillary has put forward IS really unattractive.

I would have used much stronger language myself.

Good thing the Army taught me how ignore "orders"! :patriot:

It'll be interesting to watch him fall all over himself praising her, should he be the nominee. He will definitely know better than to take us for granted or demonize life long, honorable Democrats.

that Sen. Obama is going to take one's job it is an ugly way to campaign. She also said some of Hillary's supporters may be poor. I see the word poor. I do not see the words, or their implications, stupid and gullible. The poor may be rightfully fearful (effective) after being told a fairytale of Sen. Obama's powers.

37. You drew an erronious conclusion
This Big-Ten educated lady knows that when one says "IF you are poor....." it doesn't mean or imply that Clinton supporters are poor, stupid, gullible, or some combination of the three. The point is that Powers feels that Clinton has been fear mongering. A far stronger argument to make would be to refute these claims. Can you provide links or quotations that show Clinton is not fear mongering to the poor? That would impress me far more than the fact you can say a rather crude expression in Latin. In Illinois, we were taught to use language more effectively.

BTW, I'm not an Obama supporter. I'm a supporter of good argument and use of civil language.

Samantha Power managed to offend several groups at once:

- She insulted Hillary Clinton
- She offended people from Ohio
- She offended working class people
- People found her cursing offensive
- She disavowed Obama's promise to withdraw troops from Iraq within 18 months

To top it all, she spewed these gems to a foreign newspaper.

Great going Ms. Power, I'm sure Sen. Obama is very grateful for your help.
