Obama's Campaign and the high road
It's clear enough that a certain fatigue has set in, partially by plan, partially because it's a fact, and the campaign is content to let a few kerfluffles go down, see how it plays , and then resume.

What remains are the facts that a campaign that vowed never to take the low road either decides to turn back and do just that, or continue on the high road but with a more pugnacious attitude about it.

I prefer the latter. Obama is running against precisely this type of politicking, and the events that have transpired since last week are exactly what we'll be in for for 4 more years unless the people themselves demonstrate their support for the new politics Barack Obam represents.

Everything in the campaign thus far has represented what we believe, and it's not time to abandon all hope just because the other side does exactly what we knew they would. But to rise above this, we need to deluge the public voice with our objections to this mudslinging approach, or we will be doomed to permanently watch things like global warming and the deteriorating economy partisanized to a solutionless gridlock.

2. you are wrong. Framing the tax returns as Open Govt IS POSITIVE. The Obama campaign didn't do that.
it's bullshit that Obama can't attack and come off as positive.

You create a bogus dichotomy.

4. Not exactly
it all depends on the framing of the other side. The "monster " remark is a case in point.

It's just that playing the Hillary way puts the whole game in HER court. She's an expert at partisan warfare, which I maintain would continue were she President, to everyone's detriment.

6. When the attack causes you to loose elections it's time to fight back
OLBERMANN reports, "the chief of staff to Canada‘s prime minister is quoted to saying, “It was Senator Clinton‘s campaign which said, she would be making the empty threats to change NAFTA but don‘t worry, she didn‘t mean it.”

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23521269/

This attack may have helped Obama lose Texas, Ohio, or RI.

7. True. But I think a surrogate could have done this
plus, there's nothing wrong with nicely pointing out the truth.
