No more dirty tricks please, says Obama's Kenyan grandmother
No more dirty tricks please, says Obama's Kenyan grandmother

KOGELO, Kenya (AP) - American shock jocks, dirty tricks masterminds and political bloggers: Beware the wrath of an 86-year-old Kenyan villager.
A frown replaces the dimpled beam of Sarah Hussein Obama, grandmother of U.S. senator Barack Obama, when asked on Wednesday about recent attacks on her grandson that include the spreading of rumors that he is secretly a Muslim and the repeated use of his middle name _ Hussein _ by a radio host at rally of the Republican presidential candidate.
«Untruths are told that don't have anything to do with what Barack is about,» she said in the local Luo language, her gray hair smoothed neatly under a headwrap. «I am very against it.»

(snip)

The closely fought race has inspired some Clinton supporters to try to portray Obama as dangerously foreign. In recent weeks, two Clinton volunteers in the state of Iowa resigned after forwarding false e-mails falsely saying he was a Muslim and a threat to national security. Matt Drudge, who publishes the political blog the Drudge Report, said that he was e-mailed a widely circulated picture of Obama in a turban and robe by the Clinton campaign.
«Bringing such pictures that are trying to imply that not only is he a foreigner, he is a Muslim is wrong, because that is not what he is,» scolded Sarah Obama.

(snip)

Obama's grandfather had converted to Islam from Roman Catholicism and taken the name Hussein, Sarah Obama said, but his children had inherited only the name, not the religion. Each person should be able to choose how they worshipped, she said.
«In the world of today, children have different religions from their parents,» she said. She, too, is a Christian.

5. Where is Obama's OTHER grandmother -- the one who raised him?
Is there something about Barack's American grandmother that he is ashamed of? Something that does not fit the manufactured image of BO as a savvy, street-smart black kid who figured out how to beat the MAN at his own game?

What are we to make of a candidate who touts his Kenyan, black grandmother whom he has spent only limited days with (and who comes from a lifestyle Barack has never known), but ignores and hides in the background the American, white grandmother who was truly a stabilizing, domesticizing, loving, nutiring, permanent force in his life?

Seems sorta ungrateful to me. Or calculated.

Let's have the whole story! Let's see BOTH grandmas.

It's the work of an anti-semitic "internet journalist" who submits articles for NewsMax. Media Matters has the info:

In a March 28 column for NewsMax.com titled "Free Obama's White Grandmother," "Internet journalist" Andy Martin wrote that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), whom he called "one of the most racist politicians in America today," has "locked the grandmother who actually raised him away in a closet," adding: "he 'segregation' of Madelyn Dunham, Obama's white grandmother, and only real grandmother, has to be one of the cruelest and most mendacious political kidnappings this nation has ever seen." Martin wrote that Dunham "is the 'Prisoner of Obama,' and of Obama's racist myth that he is 'Black' and not 'Black and White.' "

Martin offered no evidence for any of his allegations, other than quoting from a March 27 Chicago Tribune article, which reported that "the Obama campaign declined to make Madelyn Dunham, 84, available" for an interview and referring to a New York Times article in which, according to Martin, "Dunham told the New York Times she was not well enough to speak." That Times article, published on March 17, reported that "Obama still visits his maternal grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, who lives in the same high-rise apartment where Mr. Obama spent much of his childhood. 'I'm not well,' she said on the telephone, explaining her refusal to meet for an interview."

(...)

As Media Matters for America noted, Martin was author Catherine Moy's purported source for claiming that Obama "flat-out lied" about his upbringing, and that the school Obama attended as a child in Indonesia was "not a madrassa, but that they did teach the Quran, and they did teach that Jews are pigs. So that it -- you know, those kind of things that the Quran teaches, all of those things in the Quran that offend so many, he was taught." The claim that Obama attended a madrassa as a child -- originating in InsightMag.com -- has been thoroughly debunked. Before Obama's February 10 announcement that he would run for president, Martin wrote: "During Obama Week leading up to February 10th, we will release our CIA-style psychological profile on him; that analysis will cast more light on Barack's supple psyche and his ability to seamlessly deny objective reality."

Media Matters also noted that, according to a February 10, 2006 Chicago Tribune article, Martin "referred to a federal bankruptcy judge as a 'crooked, slimy Jew, who has a history of lying and thieving common to members of his race,'" and expressed "understand for how the Holocaust took place." Several news articles have reported that Martin's Selective Service file described him as having a "moderately-severe character defect manifested by well documented ideation with a paranoid flavor and a grandiose character."

Very interesting to compare Martin's hit piece to what you wrote.

So yeah: bad move trying to go there, Rageneau. You're busted.

14. Madelyn Dunham is now 85 years old and in poor health...
She values her privacy and refuses interviews.
