IF Bill Schneider is right, Obama is in trouble. Just a few mins ago
on CNN Schneider said that Hillary's voters are lower ^ middle income voters, and Barack's voters are those making more than $100,000. They aren't looking so much for someone who can fix things but for somebody who can inspire! His info was from Tx & OH yesterday.

IF that's true, there are a LOT MORE low & middle income voters in the US than there are those making more than $100,000!!!

3. False dichotomy ...
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 06:54 AM by BearSquirrel2
This is Schneider trying to cast Obama as an elitist. Obama is favored amongst those with higher incomes and higher education. Hillary is favored amongst those with lower income and lower education.

4. He's right
look at the exit polls in Ohio and Texas. Clinton did much better with lower income voters.

21. The OP set it up... I just teed off on it.

Said Obama's supporters make over $100K while Hillary's were lower to middle...

Obama won something like 48.5 percent of the vote in Texas... and there were over 2.1M votes cast,

So... logic says... 2.1M voters voted, 48.5 percent voted for Obama... and ALL Obama supporters make over $100K, ergo 1,018,500 democratic voters in Texas each earns over $100K...

Bill Schnieder said so... it's right there in the OP.

:sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

just for YOU... I don't believe that Bill Schnieder said any such thing. He MIGHT have said that Obama had more support than Hillary with people that make over $100,000. But that's NOT what the OP stated, he or she stated "Barack's voters are those making more than $100,000".

btw, I have a PhD in Computer Science and a BS in Mathematics. How about YOU, sport?

I support Clinton - I don't have a degree.

It's all in the exit polls.

26. Well, I know you can't read.
but there are many functional illiterates running around now. Many have degrees of some sort.

Anyway...

Go back and read the OP... and be literal about it. You know, read what was written, not what was meant.

After all, the OP started drawing conclusions about how many people make over $100K in the world and that Obama would be in real trouble if his voters all made over $100K.

I guess I'll stop now so I can go get a latte.

27. Who said they were Democrats?
The Obama line at my neighborhood caucus last night contained several well-heeled older white guys who usually vote in the Republican primaries.

their post literally.

Yeah, I know a bunch of repukes voted in the primary... bet they didn't bother to hang around for the caucus. Which explains a lot.

5. Jesus christ...
Two weeks ago these same pundits were telling you just the opposite, that Obama was winning voters that made under $40K... and now they say that he only attracts voters that make over $100K???

Yeah, right.

Either they are full of shit or huge masses of voters do these cartwheels every week or so. I'm voting that they are full of shit.

As soon as they start parsing the exit polls looking for clue and dicing us up into these little teeny tiny voting blocks.. I turn the tube off.

White women, over 30 but under 45, with a college education but making less than $50,000 a year and who have 2 or more children... voted for Hillary by a margin of blah blah blah blah.

16. No that's not true. All the pundits have said Barack attracts
voters with higher education and higher incomes. I nor they never said he doesn't get ANY lower income, just not as many as Hillary.

6. Are you talking about being in trouble in the general if he's the
nominee, or in trouble now. If he's the nominee, I can't see the majority of Hillary's voters going to McCain. If you're talking about now, there are less than 600 pledged delegates left to win. Obama will win in WY and MS, and even if Hillary wins by 20 pts in PA, WV and KY- a doubtful proposition- he'll still have a 100+ pledged delegate lead.

11. Even right now, Obama still has a 155 pledged delegate lead
and that's after the "big" win for Hillary last night.

She is going to net +5 or fewer... possibly +0 or EVEN lose a delegate or two to Obama.

And that's another 369 delegates that aren't up for grabs anymore.

At this rate, EVEN if Hillary keeps winning like she did yesterday (which she won't), OBama goes to the convention with a 140 to 145 pledged delegate lead. And a lead in overall delegates of over 100, maybe 200 (depending on what the rest of the supers do).

There isn't any escaping the math.

19. I'm talking about the primary. EVEN NOW, there are far more people making LESS than $100,000
in the US than there are making more than that.

As for delegates, we've seen several of the Super Delegates switch from Hillary to Barack. If the next few months indicate the majority of voters are tracking to Hillary, I think you'll see more of the supers switching to her. I really doubt we'll see this go on until August, and I think no matter who the winner is, they'll trounce McCain in the General.

13. It's a mistake to draw conclusions from two states....
Consider the Wisconsin primary. The reason Obama won by such a large margin (in a state whose demographics were considered Clinton-friendly) is because Obama convincingly won more low-middle income voters. Unfortunately, the vast majority of African-Americans, who overwhelmingly support Obama, are low-middle income voters. The 18-34 age demographic -- which has consistently supported Obama over Clinton -- is comprise primarily of low-middle income voters.

If there is a demographic to be concerned about if Obama wins the nomination, it is women. In Wisconsin, they broke slightly for Obama, with Clinton only carrying women in the 60+ demographic bracket. But in most of the primaries, Clinton has an decided edge with women. More women vote in the general election and Obama must be able to at least run even with McCain with women if we are to win the election.
