Limbaugh urges listeners to vote for Clinton
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/03/03/limbaugh-urges-listeners-to-vote-for-clinton/

CNN) – As Hillary Clinton battles to keep her presidential bid alive, she may be getting help from an unlikely source: conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh.

Limbaugh has been actively urging his Texas listeners to cross over and vote for Clinton in that state's open primary Tuesday, arguing it helps the Republicans if the Democratic race remains unsettled for weeks to come.

"I want Hillary to stay in this…this is too good a soap opera," Limbaugh told fellow conservative talk-show host Laura Ingraham on Fox News Friday. He reiterated the comments on his Monday show and replayed the exchange with Ingram.

He also said Clinton is more willing than the Republican National Committee and John McCain's campaign to criticize Barack Obama.

"We need Barack Obama bloodied up politically. It's obvious that the Republicans are not going to do it, they don't have the stomach for it," Limbaugh continued. "As you probably know we're getting all kinds of memos from the RNC saying we're not going to be critical. Mark McKinnon of McCain's campaign said he'll quit if they get critical over Obama. This is the presidency of the United States we're talking about. I want our party to win I want the Democrats to lose.”

3. He doesn't expect Hillary to win
He just wants Hillary to stick around so that she will do the attacks that McCain may not initiate. I heard a little bit of his show today, and he was still complaining about McCain's apology. Limbaugh believes that if Hillary opens the door for a lot of attacks, then they become fair game for the GOP.

5. Technically, he's not lying.
He's quite truthful when he states that he wants Clinton to stay in just so the Democrats continue to tear themselves apart. Slimy, but truthful, today...

He's got that  thing going...

6. Limbaugh Bets on his Cult
You know Rush, if Obama beats Hillary I can hear you frame this as "by my very voice I made it close." Limbaugh stakes his cult standing on this ruse? Nope not at all. As usual it's a setup with an out and he'll talk his way around the obvious. If Hillary wins it will be him crowing about his power and message. Don't you hate how this is all prefabricated and the gullible will believe Rush no matter how he Monday morning reframes the outcome.

8. This makes total and complete sense...
McCain has this nomination wrapped up.. Republicans don't need to vote for him in the primary. However, if they cross over and vote for Hillary, cause Obama to lose in TX by a few points- it gives her a false momentum and keeps her in this race, and us fighting against each other for the next few months.

And at the end of the day, Republicans know that Clinton would be easier to beat that Obama. NOTHING RALLY'S THE REPUBLICAN BASE LIKE CLINTON DOES.

Clinton supporters will have no problem with this, because hey - Republicans are doing the same for Obama, right? Wrong.. they're switching over to vote for Obama because some of them really want him to win the general election. This crap that Limbaugh is promoting is just to get her farther along in the Primaries to give McCain a better shot in the General Election. About as dirty as it gets.

9. Actually
a lot of Republicans don't think McCain will win, no matter who he runs against. And I certainly haven't heard Limbaugh coming out to openly embrace McCain, he seemed to want either Thompson, or possibly Romney to win.

No, this is something far more cynical. Rush Limbaugh was a nobody before the 1992 elections, and he knows very well that a Hillary Clinton Presidency would have two main attributes: 1) It would be massively unsuccessful, because she would face opposition from Obama's base of support AND fierce unbridled assault from every Republican, even the ones who often cross the aisle, and 2) It would gin up his radio ratings like nothing else ever would.

11. Ooops - He just inadvertently gave his hand away
For years, nay, for a DECADE, he has been bashing Hillary as the she-witch from Hell.

"Hillary is the Ultra-Liberal. She'll take your guns away and raise your taxes. She wants MORE people dependent on the Government. Then she'll cut off your testicles." I think that's how the storyline goes.

And on what does he base this Hillary-hate? Well, there are never any answers. No examples. No proof.
I always wondered - why did he hate Hillary so much?

Apart from the failed health-care scheme, she really hadn't done much on the national scale and aside from well-deserved Republican criticisms, she really hadn't damaged them much. In fact, she's been fairly harmless to the Repubs in her time as Senator from NY. Just look at her voting record.

But now I realize that he was more prescient than WE were. He understood that Hillary had one thing - the potential for POWER. Sheer, terrible, political power. And she would know how to harness it. Against Republicans.

And you know what? Hillary as the nominee probably WOULD motivate the RWingnuts to turn out in droves to defeat her. But Rush knows that there aren't enough people just like himself who could make a difference.

But now, Rush is willing to throw all those dire warnings away. And why? Because he now thinks that Obama is a shoe-in, desined to be the nominee and thus president.

And that's his REAL nightmare. All those years of hate-mongering against Hillary will be for nothing.
And the Democrats will get in anyway.

Hillary is the only thing that can keep his hope alive. And his ego.

12. Didn't he also spend months telling his supporters not to vote for McCain?
It's okay, Rush. We're laughing at you, not with you.

Faux News treats her with kid gloves. Amazing.

Is this what Hillary got from the Murdoch deal?
