Edited on Sat Mar-01-08 10:20 PM by Wolsh
1. ARG sucks

2. Losing a 20 point lead, and then polling within the MOE is not a "surge"

and most importantly

3. a one, five or ten point win in BOTH Ohio and/or Texas doesn't help her at ALL. Do the math, she has to have a winning percentage in the sixties to even have a chance at pulling off the nomination. She's not going to do it.

17. I agree. Hillary Inc keeps on moving the goalposts and I wouldn't be suprised
If she says "meet me in Puerto Rico" soon. I thought the defense of her massive 11 losses was that she would thump him in Texas. Now it looks like if she wins by 1 vote it she will claim it is some massive comeback victory that should keep her in the game. I have no doubt that she would gladly Huckabee her way to the convention even if it hurt Dems in the general election, and we need her to drop out if she doesn't have massive wins in Texas and Ohio.

14. Hillary can be busy explaining this
Sen. Clinton accepts donations from troubled firm
Posted on Friday, February 29, 2008 3:50 PM PT
Filed Under: Politics

Sen. Hillary Clinton has declined to return $170,000 in campaign contributions from individuals at a company accused of widespread sexual harassment, and whose CEO is a disbarred lawyer with a criminal record, federal campaign records show.

The federal government has accused the Illinois management consulting firm, International Profit Associates, or IPA, of a brazen pattern of sexual harassment including "sexual assaults,” “degrading anti-female language" and "obscene suggestions."

In a 2001 lawsuit full of lurid details, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission claims that 103 women employees at IPA were victimized for years. The civil case is ongoing, and IPA vigorously denies the allegations.

"This is by far, hands down, the worst case I've ever experienced," said Diane Smason, one of the EEOC lawyers handling the lawsuit. "Every woman there experienced sex harassment, they were part of a hostile work environment of sex harassment. And this occurred from the top down."

It allows the corporate press to spin this race going all the way to the convention and weakens Democratic chances against McCain.

20. Where the hell is SUSA?
I mean come on!!!

with that said, here are a few points to uplift obama supporters...
1. Obama has ground game!
2. Early voting has been huge, and during a big slot of that - polls have been favoring Obama.
3. Obama has 2min ads running on Monday in TX & OH - I'm really think they're going to be huge. Just a gut feeling.
4. Caucus... Obama supporters are DEDICATED! This is not something you can say to the same extent for Hillary supporters. Some get tired and cranky, and don't want to stay up past their bedtime to caucus. Granted, some have families, some work, etc - but the same can be said about Obama supporters in that classification.

Edited on Sat Mar-01-08 10:53 PM by texas_indy
One side is going to be real happy and the other is going to be pretty pissed and gunnin' for redemption.

Obama has history on his side after winning the last 11 contests.
Obama also has history on his side in relationship to the polls and actual results.

Obama is getting Texas, guys. Polls are not catching the vast number of indies and new voters Obama has brought into the equation.

3 days from now you'll see.

"In 3 days we'll know the truth of the polls! One side is going to be real happy and the other is going to be pretty pissed and gunnin' for redemption."

Some hard feelings are inevitable following the primaries but shouldn't we be aiming for as much reconciliation as possible? The way some people act around here, you sure aren't making it easy. Yes, one side is going to be happy. But that side is going to need the votes, the legwork, the donations, and the enthusiasm of those whose candidate did not win. I'm all for debating the pros and even cons of the two candidates, and it's appropriate to look at the polls in remaining states. But what's the point of trash talk? This isn't a sporting event, it's a very serious matter. We need to maintain some semblance of a unified party if we want to have any chance at all in the general election.

44. Reconciliation requires effort from both sides. Take a gander through the postings today and see
what is being posted against both candidates from both sides. Each are as guilty as the other. While it is true that the majority of supporters from both side have not participated in the attacking, it is still true that those who are not attacking are not feeling at all happy about the attacks upon their chosen candidate.

Reconciliation will be done by the vast majority of the DU membership. The extreme supporters of both sides will never reconcile and will stay bitter that their side lost. That is life. However, they will not be able to spew their hatred on this board once the nominee is decided upon, and we can concentrate upon bringing sanity and true security back to the US and it's citizens.

I don't care for Hillary at all and I will have to hold my nose if I have to vote for her. BUT, I will vote for her since she is still light years ahead of the other side.

However, I sincerly hope and pray that I will not have to go through that effort. I believe that Obama is the only candidate we have who can win this election and have the mandate needed to enact the change required.

HILL TROUNCING RIVALS IN N.H. & OHIO
By IAN BISHOP
January 31, 2007 -- WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton has blown past her primary rivals in the 2008 kickoff state of New Hampshire, and bests the field of White House hopefuls in the swing state of Ohio, new polls show.

Clinton's poll bounce comes on the heels of her announcement that she's running, and her much-publicized first campaign foray into Iowa this past weekend.

She had enjoyed a high-tech campaign rollout, featuring a video announcement of her candidacy and three nights of Web chats with supporters.

"We had a great first week and we hope it is a sign of things to come," campaign spokesman Phil Singer told The Post yesterday.

Clinton has jumped out to a 15-point lead in New Hampshire over her leading rival, Barack Obama, 40 percent to 25 percent, the new Survey USA poll shows. Former Sen. John Edwards stands at 23 percent.

Clinton leaving Obama in the dust in latest state poll

New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, bolstered by an aggressive campaign organization in California, has amassed a whopping 30-point lead over Illinois Sen. Barack Obama - and enjoys more support among likely voters in the state Democratic primary than all of her Democratic presidential rivals combined, a Field Poll released today shows.

Hillary Clinton: Is the Democratic Nomination All Hers?
She doesn’t have the nomination prize wrapped up just yet, but the paper and ribbon are handy.

By Richard Sammon, Senior Associate Editor, The Kiplinger Letter
October 22, 2007
http://www.kiplinger.com/businessresource/forecast/archive/Hillary_Clinton_Is_Democratic_Nomination_Hers_071022.html

Hillary Clinton’s lead over her Democratic rivals is starting to look formidable. The N.Y. senator is overshadowing the other presidential hopefuls, pulling way ahead in the polls, in fundraising and in organization.

The media are starting to refer to her as the presumptive nominee, a characterization that must make the other candidates feel frustrated.

CLINTON HAS 33-POINT LEAD
By GEOFF EARLE

October 4, 2007 -- WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton has jumped to an astounding 33-point lead over Barack Obama, topping her main rival among every major slice of the electorate and widening a dominating advantage she has held all summer.

Clinton got support from a full majority for the first time in any national survey about the Democratic presidential field. She is backed by 53 percent in the latest Washington Post/ABC News poll.

Obama follows far behind, with 20 percent, and John Edwards has 13 percent.

"I think it's pretty well done, don't you? All over but the voting," said Rep. Tom Petri (D-Wis.), when asked about the poll

Hillary Clinton has taken a 15 percentage-point lead over fellow US Senator Barack Obama in the race for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination, according to poll results published Tuesday...

By Dalia Sussman

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton far outpaces her main Democratic rivals to handle a range of issues, and she is considered the strongest leader and the most electable – forces that have helped her widen her lead in the race for the Democratic nomination, according to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll.

Mrs. Clinton has anywhere from a 30-point lead to a 51-point lead over Senator Barack Obama
to handle health care, the economy, the war in Iraq and the campaign against terrorism, the poll found.

Poll: Hillary Ahead In South Carolina
By Eric Kleefeld - August 22, 2007, 10:35AM
http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2007/08/poll_hillary_ahead_in_south_carolina.php
New polling from Rasmussen has Hillary Clinton beating Barack Obama in the South Carolina primary, with 38% for Hillary against 30% for Obama, with John Edwards at a distant third with 13%. Hillary and Obama are even among black voters, a demographic in which Obama needs a strong majority in order to win. Among whites, Hillary leads with Edwards in second, and Obama far behind.
