"her rival only wanted to provide health insurance to the women's children-not the women themselves"

Reenergized Clinton Talks Poverty and Healthcare
By Anne E. Kornblut

HANGING ROCK, Ohio -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, in an emotional townhall with working mothers here on Thursday, said that her rival only wanted to provide health insurance to the women's children -- not the women themselves.

"He has a mandate to cover children; he does not have any requirement for adults," Clinton said afterwards at a news conference with reporters.

It was a sharp dig from Clinton just as her campaign was hoping to turn a corner heading into the March 4 contests here and in Texas.

2. He's just trying to keep up with Hillary
With her Iraq War vote, she's already ahead of him by about 500,000.

12. How's he going to win re-election in 2012 if they're not too dead to vote for HRC's challenge?

10. I've heard people repeat that
I didn't understand why, now I do. Yes, there are people who believe the mandate is going to guarantee they get health care. It's really a dirty trick.

11. It's the worst sort of bait and switch imaginable.
First she promises everyone "universal coverage" when it's really just mandatory insurance. Then she (with the help of people like Paul Krugman) convinces the dupes that most uninsured people are irresponsible young slackers who think they are invincible and have tons of disposable cash. All we have to do is get these "deadbeats" to buy insurance and everyone's healthcare will become miraculously affordable. Because there's that many of those healthy rich deadbeats, apparently. They will even offset all the previously "uninsurable" people entering the system, as Hillary promises them that they can't be denied coverage. It's outrageously dishonest. If she succeeds, then those single moms will be stuck with mandatory private health insurance and no guarantees that it will be kept affordable. Because, as you say, it's a mandate to private companies, not an entitlement like SS or Medicare.

Here's a post I did earlier today about how the uninsured are the new "Welfare Queens".

13. Not only that but some of her supporters seem to be under the impression...
that they'll get to buy into a government run, non profit insurance system, which is simply not the case. The FEHBP program that most people will have to buy into is merely a program that buys plans from private insurers. I looked up my current Blue Shield plan on the FEHBP site and the premiums were identical to what I'm paying now (actually possibly a bit more expensive, I need to double check). Which works fine if you're a government employee and 75% of your premiums are paid for you by your employer. It doesn't do any good for everyone else though.

I have tried to point this out to Clinton supporters on multiple threads but nobody wants to listen.

15. Thx for pointing that out.
I feel dumb that I wasn't even aware of that. So basically it's all private insurance. Which makes me wonder how she can claim that "uninsurable" people will be able to get coverage without everyone else's rates being jacked up, since it's all private, unless they'll get all of them on Medicaid.

This is looking more and more like a big ol' subsidy to the insurance industry.

32. I'm sure that uninsurable people will all be dumped onto Medicare.
The rest of us won't have the option to buy into it though. We'll be stuck with private plans. So as far as I can see there's really no competition as claimed.

Oh boy, did she cry again?

See, this is exactly why Hillary Clinton has done a great job at reinforcing all the weak, submissive, over-emotional stereotypes about women.

6. He wants to provide women with "Choice".......
children unfortunately have no such choice...which is why Obama mandates health insurance for them.

I believe that is how it should be.

Now, if someone was mandating that I will have health coverage without me being forced to write a check to a large insurance Corporation, I might agree with that....otherwise, let me have choice when it comes to my health. Of course, I would choose to be covered...which is why this "difference" that Sen. Clinton is stuck on is like a needle stuck on a 45. At some point, you simply take the record off.
