3. I was just about to say...oh good, Abrahms.
"One of the two biggest issues is why Clarke wasn't harder on Clinton..." WTF?

17. Abraham's was ridiculous
and didn't talk about Clarke...just wanted to ask why Clinton isn't just as much to blame. Clark gave him a good argument. Can't wait to see him on Newsnight.

Still..
I was proud of Wes refusing to give an inch on that, and repeating that it's Bush that is running for re-election on this issue so what the fuck does Clinton have to do with it?

I don't think he looked tired, he looked good to me! :)

Not just that, I think he looked good tonight. I've seen him looking really tired, with the bags under the eyes, and he looked rested and handsome tonight.

A: But I think it's important to make a comparison, and the only person we can compare bush (on terror) to is Clinton.

Wes: With all due respect, I don't think that's the important question.

HA!!!!

Isn't there some Lacy/Michael/Blake story out there that Danny should be covering?

19. Abrams is like a dog with a bone
He always does this. He gets a hardon about a single question, and asks it over and over wasting an entire segment with a guest that is clearly not going to give him the answer he wants.

I actually miss Debbie.

21. Actually I thought Dan did a good job
He was aggressive with both Clark and Flemstock. I have no problem with reporters who go after both sides equally.

24. But don't you think..
If it's clear the guest isn't going to take the question you've asked 20 different ways already, you should move on to something else?

It's such a waste of time, for everybody. "Hard hitting" doesn't mean repetitive. Move on.

26. I think talking heads of any stripe who press Wes on questions
usually end up wondering how their disconnected head wound up in their hands.

In this case, the repetition gave Wes the chance to repeatedly drive home the terminal destination of the buck: Shrub.

And I love when they repeatedly throw him in the "leadership" patch; I just get goose bumps when he slices and dices the clown in the WH, in a civilized manner, of course.

So, perhaps unintentionally (?), Abrams helped make the major point of this deadly fiasco: the buck stops with aWol, and he is grossly unable to handle it.

27. Abrams Was Civil Throughout The Interview. No Screaming or Cutting Off
ACtually, it's a journalist's JOB to bring up the points the "opposition" uses.

Gave Wes repeated opportunity to refute them. Wes did well.

:)

He looks great, but should gain 10 pounds.

29. Abrams isn't a screamer :)
I'll give him that, outright.

Sure, Wes did well, I just thought it was an entire segment about one question and it involved, once again, CLINTON!! When the book was about BUSH.

Could we please have a discussion about the current POTUS, without bringing up the devil Clinton? Or at least, something more than JUST Clinton?

28. I get your point...
Repetition works.

But.

Abrams was also able to repeat Clintons name about 30 times in the span of 5 minutes. So what you came away with could be either: Bush is at fault or Clinton, Clinton, Clinton.

14. Host Kept Trying To Compare Bush & Clinton
Clark kept on saying it's BUSH up for election, running on his record fighting terrorism.

Wes used football analogy... Clinton handed Bush ball and they left it on the field.

He made it clear that there were real, practical things that could have been done to confront terrorism and thoat those things weren't done.

He even mentioned Ashcroft... Bush SHOULD have directed him to focus on Al Qaeda.

25. I think...
He's a spokesman for Kerry now. He is going to stick to the issues that Kerry want's to focus on.

The things he said about 9/11 could be trouble for Kerry, even though I personally love that he said them. Kerry just doesn't have the cajones to go there, like Wes did.

31. I'm sure you're right. That occurred to me as well. Thanks for the
input.

However, I disagree that Kerry lacks the cojones to take on this issue. He's reading Dick Clarke's book right now, apparently, and my guess is he'll come out with guns blazing when he's ready. Wes's experiences with the NeoCons may well be part of his arsenal.

I really look forward too to Rand Beers and Dick Clarke appearing together, hammering on the fact that they're both Republicans who resigned from BushCo in protest of the Iraq insanity.

33. Well, I hope so..
I don't want Kerry to be Mr. Negative right now, the media is hammering Bush lately, the news just can't be spun that well, so Kerry can afford to be positive and above the fray.

That said, I think Kerry is going to run a safer campaign than Clark would have. Sometimes, he even made me nervous with the stuff he would say, because they were already trying to make him out to be some sort of a madman for even suggesting that Bush intended to go into Iraq regardless of 9/11. Now, we have several "crazy" people saying the same thing, hmmm...
