McDaddy 47% Obama 43% /McDaddy 47% Clinton 44%
Monday’s results also show John McCain continuing to hold a very modest lead against both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in general election match-ups. McCain now leads Obama 47% to 43% and Clinton 47% to 44%. McCain has consistently held a modest lead over Clinton but he moved ahead of Obama only in the past few days (see recent daily results and summary of recent state general election polls).

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

It's one poll and it's Rasmussen so it should be taken with a large grain of salt...That being said Obama or Clinton are going to need EVERY vote than they can get...Disrespecting Obama and/or Clinton and their supporters doesn't help...

A word to the wise is sufficient...

1. it may be too late - Hillary could reverse those number - Obama never will
Pathetic are the Obama folks that deny his smear/play the race card/lie campaign - or that those
"left" ideas are per Obama "on the table" to trade for GOP love and changing the atmosphere in DC.

The best part was Obama stopping discussion of his lack of political ability to get left type victories of any size - by play the race card and getting 24/7 discussion of the "race card" - all by using his folks to say they saw racial undertones in comments by Clinton supporters - while he let it boil for a few weeks until he finally said the Clintons were not racists (not noting anything they had accomplished for blacks - like better jobs/income) but then claiming Hillary should be faulted for lack of control of all who support her - only 4 weeks later when he unleashed a few slurs/smears via supporters he claimed it was silly to assume anyone could control their supporters.

The walk on water sale via a GOP organizations/corporate media that has had its emails explaining its support of Obama as an attempt to get the weaker candidate printed on DU many times seems to work well with the men that are afraid of a women in authority.

2. I expect his 30 point lead in states like Alabama skews that
I'm encouraged by the polls showing us winning Ohio.

10. Polls in your head?
Obama won't win Ohio on March 4th or November.

When you look at potential match up polls you should be looking at individual states that matter. States like Ohio and Florida (which Hillary wins)

the GE started...I continue to assert that these polls are meaningless because most people are not paying attention until the GE starts

4. imo
we were dead in the water as soon as mccain got the nomination. he's seen by most people as a moderate.
it seems just too many people hated hillary for her to really get any traction. i wonder how many hillary supporters won't vote for obama now even in november. and how many obama supporters will stay home if hillary pulls this out. i'm personally just a little better than warm of hillary, but i will vote for her in november if she should get the nomination. under no circumstances will i ever vote for obama. quite the pickle we're in.

5. Rasmussen is CRAP. See RealPolitics: Obama beats McCain
Grandpa vs. Obama: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html

Grandpa vs. Clinton: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_clinton-224.html

Average of all polls: Obama 47, McCain 43.... Clinton 43, McCain 47. You've selected the only poll that has Granpa ahead of Obama.

8. Sincerely, If The Election Was Tomorrow I Could Not Vote At The Presidential Level
That being said, if I was the ultimated decider I would most likely vote for Obama and it would be one of the most difficult votes I made in my life because I take my politics very seriously...

If the race is competitive in FL I will vote for him...If it isn't I will leave that part of the ballot blank...

I (figuratively) have been called by Obama supporters on this board a "pathetic loser", a "goose stepping thug", and told that the person I support is vile...Oh, and that I am superfluous because he can win without me...

All this literally breaks my heart because I was an Obama fan when he first made his appearance on the national scene... I bought "The Audacity Of Hope" as soon as it came out... All my heroes from Malcom X to Dr. King to Muhammad Ali are African American...Most of my close friends are African American... I so wanted him to win...

I don't see him as perfect... I see him playing the games all successful politicians play... If they were perfect they probably wouldn't go into politics...If his supporters would acknowledge he plays these games too instead of countenancing everything he does and than beating you up if you call him on it I would feel more comfortable with him and them...

9. Obama is a politician, of course hes playing some games to win
Every politician does that. Hes not perfect, hes flawed, hes human. Hes no messiah or saint or anything stupid like that. But I think hes a good genuine man who will do good things for this country. Has he made mistakes? Of course, and I hope he manages to learn from them very quickly when the rethug attack machine comes out in full force. Already the media is turning on him b/c McBush is loved by them. It was expected though. It always seems harder for us dems.

12. I Respect And Appreciate Your Candor
I am surprised the media is turning on Obama... I genuinely thought they liked him... There is a lesson there though...Many of the reich wing embraced Obama because he was the instrument to vanquish the "Hildabeast"...Now that looks like he has vanquished the "Hildabeast" he is of no value to them...

They are a duplicitous bunch for sure...

As I said if Obama really needs my vote it will be there but with everything that has transpired it will be the most joyless vote I ever cast...

14. Regarding the media
I just don't buy the fact that the media ever "loved" Obama. I think they were just inspired by his story and couldn't ignore the massive crowds and he was also the underdog. The story was too compelling. I read an interesting article from Howard Kurtz about Obama, and he said Obama gives very little access to reporters. Apparently he does that b/c he doesn't want to spin the media. While its a noble idea, access is what reporters crave so if they don't get what they want they are more apt to turn on him. McCains approach is the opposite, he gives reporters all the access they want which leads to more Pro-McCain stories. I did not find out until recently that he called asians "gooks" at one point or his infamous "chelsea is ugly" joke. The press didn't really cover that, and I doubt they'll paint him in a negative light if they weren't able to do anything with the sex scandal story. I WISH Obama would take a cue from McCains handbook and use the press to his advantage. Winning over the press is half the battle.

Heres an article on McCains press relations that is interesting:

If you're picking your presidential candidates based on how their supporters treat you on a this messageboard.....you should probably step away from the computer and get some fresh air.

You folks are making new friends every day...

I am literally being torn apart my two emotions...The positive emotion of wanting to see America moved in a more liberal direction as opposed to the negative emotion of wanting to see the people who have hurt me feel as hurt as I am when their candidate loses...

there is no way McCain would beat both of them. People really aren't THAT DUMB anymore....bush has 19% approval. I don't think many people really want anther Republican president any time soon....
