Is anybody else hoping Ron Paul runs as an independent?
Edited on Sun Feb-24-08 07:06 PM by NJSecularist
While I doubt Nader will have much of an effect this election, Ron Paul can. Ron Paul has the name recognition and the conservative credentials that could help siphon some votes away from McCain from those disenfranchised conservatives and help our chances in a few swing states.

So please Ron Paul, please forget about your bid for re-election in Congress. Run as an independent. :)

1. I'm in TX; right now he's trying to hold onto his Congressional seat, so
I don't know that he's even really running any longer. His commercials don't indicate that.

2. He said no. He said he is a republican. That's why he has a fight on his hands at home. nt
Don't be a republican if you want to have political future.

3. we aren't going to need it
On the other hand, it would be nice to have another anti-war, pro-constitution candidate in the race -- even a crazy-ass, racist whack-job one.

6. Yeah, that would help.
Give libertarians a channel for their hatred of the "Gubment" by voting for their savior Paul in a 3rd party ticket.

8. Not really hoping for it but it would help pad the victory.
We are going to win in November with or without Paul.

9. Agreed
But it sure would be nice to see a slight victory in Florida given to us by Ron Paul taking votes from McCain. :)

11. You get votes by working for it. . . . . . . . . .WAKE UP.
You pad the totals by organizing and working, knockin on doors, making phone calls, hosting house parties for your local congressional candidate.

12. I am quite awake, no need to yell.
My point was that an Independent run by Paul would only help us. Chill dude.
