3. I know for me, an ex-Edwards-now Obama guy
that if Clinton was to somehow win I'd have a Hillary sign on MY front lawn-I will NOT be fooled into voting against my own best interests and I HOPE every single Clinton supporter here would do the same for Obama

I'm ashamed to admit that I voted for Nader in 2000. There, I admitted it. Believe me, I don't like to own up to it.

I wasted my vote in 2000. I will not, under any circumstances vote for Nader. I will vote for Obama if he's the nominee.

if nominated.

They were mostly low count posters and/or folks who'd joined recently, usually with no profile. My guess is they are trolls/freeps.

I can't imagine anyone who's genuinely interested in this country would enable a Republican candidate.

17. If You Had Doubts About My Answer, Then Your Perception Is Pathetic.
I have said countless times how much I support Obama and how excited I am for him. It is also quite clear that I hate nader. For you for a second to have had doubts about my answer, means you have a monumentally skewed perception and have total blinders on as it relates to the things people post here.

28. Wow, Your Perception Is Really Off.
Supporting Obama and being excited for him does not mean I don't also support Hillary and am excited for her as well. And I never called Obama people assholes. Some of them are intelligent, thoughtful and sincere. But here, there are quite a few on his side that are in fact assholes. Blatant assholes. Blatant childish assholes in fact.

And again, if you had any accurate perception whatsoever, ability to reason, think and pay attention to things around you, you should've more than known by now that I wholeheartedly support both nominees. The fact that for a second you had doubts as to what my answer would be means you either pay no attention here or are so blind in your perception that you only see what you want to see and then twist it into oblivion.

Try and pay more attention here. The fact you doubted for a second how I would've responded to this thread means you have all sorts of issues as it relates to detail, objectivity, and perception. You should really work on that, so that in the future you don't look as much like a total fool.

Edited on Sun Feb-24-08 12:39 PM by OPERATIONMINDCRIME
That shows you to be a complete closed minded ignorant fool, because I have dozens of posts here declaring my support and excitement for both candidates. The fact is, you see what you want to see. You have lost all sense of objectivity and critical thinking skills. You are so entrenched in your sports mentality like obsession with your candidate that you can't comprehend for a second that someone could support a candidate, and still have the objectivity to offer criticism. You can't perceive for a moment, that if someone isn't sporting an obama avatar and acting like a grade school child throwing insult after insult at Hillary supporters, that they could in fact still be an Obama supporter. You see things from your little narrow bubble of ignorance and don't have what it takes to peek outside of it.

To anyone with any intellect or reasoning skills it is beyond apparent that I support both candidates in this race and am excited no matter what for November. Get your head out of your ass, and next time maybe you'll notice. :hi:

I am less than excited about Obama, I respect much more Clinton overall, but not in her camp either.

McCain and Nader are both intolerable to me. McCain because of his positions, Nader because of the damage he did to the US in the 2000 election and 2004 election.

Don't write Hillary off just yet. She's like a cockroach that doesn't die after you spray a whole can of Raid on it. Gov. Strickland who's hoping to snag a VP slot if Clinton wins, is promising to deliver her the vote in Ohio. Might be easy to do it courtesy of Diebold machines which are being used in Ohio Primary.

61. The "If x wins the nomination, I'm staying home/voting for y/writing in z" theme pops up whenever a
given candidate is down. In the early primary season, the theme comes mostly from those who support candidates that pretty much everyone knows don't have a shot at the nomination (Kucinich, Gravel, etc.). It's (a) an expression of frustration that the cards are stacked against their candidate and (b) a reflection of the fact that the only real way we can "threaten" the party is by withholding our vote in the general election. In the middle stage, when Clinton was still expected to be coronated, we saw it a fair amount from Obama supporters, as a way of rallying support for the emerging contender.

In the final stages, you see it from candidates whose backs are against the wall. I remember a couple of "If Obama or Hillary wins, I'm staying home" posts from disappointed Edwards supporters. It's no surprise that now, as HRC's campaign is facing the end of the line if they can't pull out big wins a week from Tuesday, it's no surprise to see such posts multiply from frustrated Clinton supporters. If the roles were reversed, and Oct. 3 looked like Obama's last stand, rather than Clinton's, I have no doubt that we'd be seeing more such posts from Obama folk.

I think the overwhelming number of HRC supporters, especially those on DU, will be getting behind the democratic nominee. Some may be telling the truth when they say they'll stay home or vote for nader or write in HRC's name, but I think for the most part it's an expression of frustration. Given how much time, energy, and money many people have invested into the contest, and how high emotions have run on both sides, I think that's understandable ...

69. Well, now that you've managed to insult good Democrats with a broad brush
Because a FEW on BOTH SIDES have said they wouldn't vote for the Democratic nominee if it weren't their choice of candidate, I'll weigh in.

No. Absolutely not. I will vote (reluctantly) for Obama. I'd never vote for Nader, ever.
