I wish JK had chosen Colorado instead of Idaho as his Skiing destination
of choice. I mean along time ago. I know he's had a place there for long time. Didn't he learn anything from Clinton in chosing his vacation destinations with an eye for political advantage. Don't tell me Kerry hasn't done that with other things in his life. And this is harmless.

Oh, and if you don't know why I wish that it's because Colorado is a republican-leaning swingstate and Idaho is a far, far, -right republican state

1. the game
As long as we try to play their game we're doomed to fail. I saw JFK having fun skiing on the tele tonight. When's the last time you saw W having fun?

4. Yay, another rich white male, playing a rich white male's game.
That really plays well in the urban areas now, doesn't it. W has got his rich white male retreat, and now we find out that Kerry does too. So once again, the question is begged, What the hell is the difference.

Kerry would be better off going down to the inner city area and pick up a game of hoops. A better photo op, and a way of distinguishing himself from Bushco.

Sorry to be such a bummer, but many many people out there don't appreciate having their faces rubbed in it by rich white males. Kerry needs to adjust his campaign accordingly.

9. Yeah pal,
I ski all the time (well, not in summer), and I'm no elitist. I resent that implication.

12. Hoops in the inner city??
Oh, *that* wouldn't look too much like a phony stunt, now would it? Geez, he is who he is. How can anybody see that as "having their faces rubbed in it by rich white males?" Snowboarding is an evil symbol of oppression now? This is really getting ridiculous.

5. It is absolutely AMAZING that one word of any kind is mentioned about JK..
vacationing anywhere, anytime, anyhow!!

George Bush has spent the least amunt of time in the WH of ANY president. He's inCrawford. Camp David, fundraising or anywhere besides doing his job.

Is there anything that the pubs won't bring up - and condemn.

And this is the bad part - Democrats fall for it like a ton of bricks?

10. Thank You!!! Jeez, Junior Is On Semi-Permanent Vacation Folks
and even when he IS working... he only does TWO 45 minute Policy Sessions A WEEK.

Why there are so many (more than maybe ONE) threads on Kerry skiing on DU right now is unbelievable.

7. don't sell Idaho short
We're going to take Latah county--potentially Blue. Make sure the Montanans and Oregonians do their part. Boise can go blue from within--and then spread.

Looking at past elections, Republicans are not *that* popular. Consider all of Idaho's Perot voters. How many of them are happy with Bush? These people are independents. Kerry exudes independence.

There's no reason for Dems to abandon Idaho.

Kerry played the dams/Salmon thing well. He knows the Mountain West well enough to put all of these states into play.
