15 mistakes made by Bush this last week
Edited on Sun Mar-21-04 12:38 AM by KerryEdwards
1. Bush offered up yet another entertaining zinger for Jon Stewart when he said, "If you're going to make an accusation in the course of a presidential campaign, you've got to back it up with facts."

2. Steady Leadership in Times of Change is about as exciting as frozen peas.

3. The much vaunted BC04 political machine stumbled out of the gate and recent articles profiling the campaign have included numerous blind quotes from Republicans nervous about the President’s reelection prospects.

4. Believing that he will be reelected by placing the War in Iraq front and center in his campaign and the subsequent Cheney-Baghdad hotel bombing TV split-screen.

5. Failing to take a page from the Bush 41 campaign and having no credible economic/healthcare/education message/spokesmen. Double digit deficits to a yet widely unknown John Kerry on these kitchen table issues can’t be heartening.

6. Cringing as John McCain once again rides to the defense of his fellow Veteran John Kerry saying, in response to the GOP criticism that John Kerry would threaten national security, ``I don't think that''. ``I think that John Kerry is a good and decent man. I think he has served his country. I think he has different points of view on different issues and he will have to explain his voting record. But this kind of rhetoric, I think, is not helpful in educating and helping the American people make a choice.''

7. Failing to instantly censure Rummy for lying on national TV http://www.moveon.org/censure/caughtonvideo/

8. Traveling to Ohio to talk about jobs on the day the trade deficit sets a new record. Just bad timing.

9. Having his VP give a speech broadcast live on national TV defending the War in Iraq and attacking John Kerry’s foreign policy (see mistake 4) while the world is riveted by another tragic bombing in Iraq.

10. Calling John Kerry out on his “more leaders” quote days after the election in Spain and its implicit criticism of the Bush administration policy. UPDATE: Polish president Aleksander Kwasniewski tells a news conference today he was “mislead” during the lead-up to the War in Iraq.

11. Going on the attack (and his VP, too, see mistakes 1 and 4) and naming names 5 months earlier than any of your recent predecessors.

12. Failure to go back in time and create a single job, or provide a single American with affordable healthcare. Failure to tell the country the truth about the War in Iraq and avoid the deaths of 500+ American soldiers.

13. Mugging for cameras at Rodeos and the Daytona 500 while the economy looks bleak to most Americans and our soldiers are dying in Iraq (see mistake 12).

14. By making all these mistakes the Bush team seems unable to recover their political ‘mojo’.

15. Not fully realizing that by making all these mistakes Bush’ negatives continue to rise, his electoral strength seems to be slipping towards electoral weakness and his sole message seems to be “hate” for John Kerry.

2. It is nice to see them so desperate.

His "rally" comments about Kerry visiting Dallas, were tasteless and a good indicator of just how evil they really are. I'm sure that his comments crossed the line with quite a few repubs.

Watching them go down in flames will be worth every second.

3. You people must know some nice repubs.
The ones I know seem to think that bullying liberals is ok (except for me because I'm the token Jew and if they hurt me or my feelings than they won't get to go up in the rapture. No seriously I've talked to some of them about this and I'm not making stereotypes, this is for real). How can I be friends with these people? 'Cause watching them squirm is so much fun *AND* because they are nice folks otherwise. They can be nice, just don't pet them when they haven't been fed. Every day in Colorado Springs is like going on safari to see Republicans in their natural habitat.

Back to what I originally meant to talk about. Do Republicans even care how many of us they offend? If Bush* makes questionable comments like this one, that kind of makes him more popular, no?

4. I don't think that Republicans care about being nice.
They just want to stereotype people, especially anybody who disagrees with them.
