you, jsamuels, jackson_dem...I'm feeling more of a connection to Obama, though I don't think of or call myself his supporter (because he hasn't received anything from me in the primaries, and because of the ex-gay thing). I miss being on the same side with all you guys though.

38. Coca-Cola is "so last century." Obama promises Red Bull in the water fountains!
Edited on Thu Feb-21-08 06:33 PM by smalll
But then, come to think of it, have Obamaboppers ever sipped at a water fountain? America's been through a lot in the past half century: from segregated water fountains, to integrated water fountains, to non-existent water fountains now everyone drinks overpriced plastic-encased "bottled" water instead.

7. There are plenty of Hillary supporters here
Just not nearly as many as Obama supporters, lol. And human nature being what it is, it takes a lot of grit to fly in the face of majority opinion all of the time, so many of the DU members who do support Hillary don't post about her that much. Sometimes it feels like asking for a group mugging. Besides it is more fun to hang out with lots of buds online having your beliefs reinforced - basoc human nature. Some Clinton supporters won't come out of the woodwork unless and until things turn around for her in the primaries.

24. When people believe they are helping to make a better America
by backing a certain candidate, it makes them feel like better people. I understand that linkage anyway. It gets ugly when they think the way to make a better America is to destroy other Demcorats who oppose their given candidate.

25. I'm checking in-But I want to address this "CHANGE" theme Obama is pushing
I don't see where the change is in his policies. If anything, I see more of a republican in him then democrat. I made a list of things that bother me with him. I just listed them on another post a minute ago but they need to be posted on this thread.

He's made statements referencing invading NW Pakistan to flush out and find Osama Ben Lauden. I don't like the way that sounds. I mean, it is basically a right wing talking point and because of that I question his true progressiveness.

Another thing that bothers me is he is open to the idea of a voucher system for private schools, another right wing talking point. He seems to think NCLB is worth reworking when it was a disaster and it needs to be thrown out and a new plan working from the bottom up needs to be initiated.

Another thing that bothers me is he wants to increase the age of social security benefits for senior citizens. I don't like this idea either. In retrospect he is trying to save money which is a right leaning idea and Senior Citizens will revolt.

He hasn't come out and said he would get rid of DADT whereas Hillary has.

27. Hillary Supporter Here With MAJOR Question.
OK, since I am among Hillary supporters, I can ask this. It seems to me that Hillary has been winning the states that have closed primaries, one with only Democrats voting for Democrats, no Independents and republicans. Does anyone smell a rat? Could the republicans be voting en masse now for Obama in open primaries so that we send the weaker candidate into the general?
Just asking. Don't know if this has been covered lately, or at all. I would just get attacked by Obamabots.

30. No. I'm not one for conspiracies. I don't think this is the case.
People were suggesting the same thing with Hillary, claiming that Republicans want her as the candidate to destroy her. Truth be told, the GOP knows either candidate can and probably will crush them if we run this campaign right. The edge goes to the Democrats, and I don't buy into this theory.

It's called the "Stop Hillary Now" campaign. Rush Limbo has been telling his callers to vote for Obama, as has Dick Morris was on Fox. There have been Republican callers to Washington Journal on C-SPAN as well.

70. What happened in CT was that the Republican
candidate was such a clown. The local Republicans didn't even support him and instead got behind Lieberman. The Republicans here love him because he works so well with Republicans, KWIM?

I am still a Clinton supporter. At this point Obama does nothing for me and some of his supporters certainly have not helped with my opinion.

72. I Like and voted for Hillary
I was a Kucinich supporter who went to Edwards and than voted for Clinton on Super Tuesday. I like Obama but I don't know if he will be tough enough against the Republicans and I don't like all the cozy talk towards Republicans.

When has trusting a Republican office holder done the common man any good? Maybe if you go back to Ike or TR.

76. Interesting
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only Clinton supporter who liked Kucinich as their favorite choice. I actually had a couple people on this forum nervy and dumb enough to tell me that no Kucinich supporter could possibly be a Clinton supporter. Interestingly, one of those geniuses who said that to me was a faux Kucinich supporter who has since been outed and tombstoned as a fake, that Kucinihc4America guy, or whatever his name was, lol.

I like Obama but I don't know if he will be tough enough against the Republicans and I don't like all the cozy talk towards Republicans.

Exactly my sentiments, too, and the concern of all of my friends in my area who all think that Obama simply won't be tough enough to go up against McCain.

77. I'm still here and I will stay here until the end!!!
One of the things that I have always admired about Hillary is her grit and courage. I like women with "balls" because I have grown a pair myself. I have no problem with controversial women who make waves, it's the mealy mouthed ones that I can't stand.

Hillary will have a prominent place in American history books whether she wins the presidency or not. She has proven to be one of the most remarkable and accomplished women of our country and I for one couldn't be prouder of her.

Go Hillary!!!!!!!!

:bounce:

81. Till the last dog dies in my support of HRC
and just a few thoughts: I'd say the whore media piled on and tied Hillary's hands. Everytime she or Bill made a point, the whore press said, "Racism! How dare you!"

That's why the LBJ comment was treated as a racial slur. That's why the Jesse Jackson comment was treated as a racial slur.

Who knew running against a Black person would have such pitfalls? If they said anything, the reply was always, "How long have you hated Blacks?" Nobody's going to ask McCain that because everybody knows Republicans hate Blacks.

Weren't we all a little suspicious when Obama won GOP bunkers like Idaho and Utah while losing liberal/Democratic strongholds like New York, New Jersey and California?

Really? You weren't even a little bit suspicious?

My bullshit detector has been barking like a chihahua on Cuervo Gold for months but this Obama Fever has captured everyone's attention and they can't say why.

Let's hope I'm 100% crazy and wrong

Question: Will Obama if he receives the nomination ask those racists(the Clintons) to campaign for him?
