yesterday about Gillespie's comment about Dean. I sure would have liked to have seen other Dems come to Dean's defense, but it's o.k. with me that Kerry did not. I don't want Kerry and Dean to be too close, otherwise Dean would feel he must constrain himself. The Dean at the beginning of his speech today is the Dean I want to see.

17. The best thing about Dean not being a candidate anymore is that he can

just let it rip without worrying that the occasional poor choice of words will be replayed 500 times and cost him the nomination. Voters should be smart enough to not penalize Kerry for it. Dean can strongly make a point, and Kerry will seem like a moderate, safe choice compared to Dean.
