A Letter From Al Qaeda Wants Bush To Win
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 07:42 PM by slinkerwink
<snip>
WE WANT BUSH TO WIN

The statement said it supported President Bush (news - web sites) in his reelection campaign, and would prefer him to win in November rather than the Democratic candidate John Kerry (news - web sites), as it was not possible to find a leader "more foolish than you (Bush), who deals with matters by force rather than with wisdom."

In comments addressed to Bush, the group said:

"Kerry will kill our nation while it sleeps because he and the Democrats have the cunning to embellish blasphemy and present it to the Arab and Muslim nation as civilization."

"Because of this we desire you (Bush) to be elected."

The group said its cells were ready for another attack and time was running out for allies of the United States.

"Whose turn is it next? Will it be Japan or America, or Italy, Britain or Oslo or Australia?" the statement said, adding Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were also targets.

The group is named after Muhammed Atef, also known as Abu Hafs, a close bin Laden aide killed in the U.S.-led war in Afghanistan (news - web sites).

4. They should be more Rove like IMO
You know, point to Bush and say " That's him he's the one we want" Or would they be more Rove like by pretending they want Bush because they want Kerry?

One thing for sure, we've certainly proven all the money in the world can do anything to solve this mess.Yet politicans everywhere are loathe to imply we should spend less, anywhere, and here at home our society and infrastructure crumble around us.

7. I find this 'letter' highly dubious to say the least...
while it can be legit, there are so many things out there that are convoluting everything that it is getting difficult at best to sort it all out.

Add to that, the notion that this group would endorse bush, (doubtable), it just makes me happier to vote for Kerry, or ABB.

9. Having Bush around benefits Al Qaeda because they use him to
recruit more members for Al Qaeda.

18. absolutely!
Al Qaeda and Bush are birds of a feather. They are both extremists who need an enemy to maintain their power. For Al Qaeda, the perfect enemy is Bush, for all the reasons they cite in their letter. For Bush, it is Al Qaeda, for very obvious reasons.

21. Yes, but endorsing Bush would not help Bush
If they really wanted Bush to win, they would publicly endorse Kerry. Then when Bush wins, they could redouble their recruiting numbers once again.

Also suspicious is the fact that this letter declares a truce with Spain because of its decision to withdraw from Iraq... To most laymen that will only make sense if you presuppose a connection with Iraq. I think we politicos tend to think on a more complex level than most ordinary Americans. If this thing is prone to spin for the other side (especially on that issue since the vast majority already believe that), the American people will probably accept it.

Something is fishy about this letter. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I'm trying to guard my optimism lest this letter blow up in our faces.

in the prosecution of the War on Terror.

13. Don't know who is doing their press releases
but I'd sign them up, very freash sounding.

"Kerry will kill our nation while it sleeps because he and the Democrats have the cunning to embellish blasphemy and present it to the Arab and Muslim nation as civilization."

Gloriously evocative, one reason possibly being: I'm not used used to the style.

15. There is a point here
if Kerry want's to get his message across, don't write it in 'beltway language', don't use beltway speech writers 'cause I have been listening to it for 40 years and it bores the living crap out of me. The words go straight in one ear and straight out the other.

Mix it up a bit.

14. Hey slinker....please read this.....
This is the only issue on which I have to agree with the
Bush approach. I am against disproportional taxcuts for the
rich, I am against loosening of environmental standards, I
am against government intervention on women's right to choose
especially in the first half of pregnancy, and several other
Bush agenda.

However since I spent first 20 years of my life growing up in
India where I had a chance to study the local history, and since
I experienced at first hand of living with muslims, there is
no doubt whatsoever in my mind that islam & peace with other
religions can not co-exist. The muslims have been invading India
since the 8th century AD. They attacked communities without
provocation, committed barbaric acts of mass slaughter and rapes
on those who refused to convert to Islam.

THE ONLY SOLUTION THAT WORKED AGAINST THE ISLAMISTS WAS TO DEFEAT
THEM MILITARILY AND KEEP THEM WEAK. Not until the maratha warlord
Shivaji defeated the muslim rulers in the 16th century did the
brutality of muslims come to an end. Study history of Islam with
any other religion be it Chritians, Jews, Budhists, Hindus, and
you will find that Islam can not co-exist peacefully. Their holy
book of Kuran explicitly teaches converting of all non-believers
and failing that destroy and kill them. And if they get killed in
that effort (jihad) they will be lavishly rewarded in heaven. So
anyone who considers himself a devout muslim, has this "sacred"
duty assigned to him by Allah.

20. You are right about the "moderate" muslims but the 911 terrorists
were unfortunately not very moderate. I am all for
helping the moderates take over Iraq and form a
democratic government. All other muslim countries in
the middle east are run by dictators, some friendly
and some not so friendly such as Saddam.

We must defeat militarily any regime that supports
terrorists such as Taliban in Afghanistan who supported
Osama Bin Laden and his band of terrorists. Same goes
for Saddam rewarding the suicide terrorists in Israel.
