1. I confirm that too. But I'm an American.
Edited on Tue Mar-16-04 09:57 PM by fearnobush
So I don,t count. But I know a guy in South American names Hugo Chavez who leads a democracy and would, lets say, call Bush an asshole. Bush and Chaney, would not touch that one in the media. This foreign leaders thing is already starting to back fire on Rove.

Have they forgotten the war protests all over Europe??....MILLIONS and MILLIONS of anti-war protesters. Remember the protests in Spain??? The WORLD hates Bush/Cheney. What the hell do they expect? Do they REALLY believe the leaders of other countries want the world to be intimidated and threatened for another 4 years? They are trying to make this an issue and it is doing nothing but making them look like the FOOLS they are.

20. Holbrooke was also great when he said
ask all your foreign correspondents (on CNN) what the governments think of Bush. Ha!

Wolf Blitzer didn't want to go there.

17. That's what Carville said about bush in his speach to
the fire fighters union - not about Joe Biden.

11. In the '88 Presidential campaign
he used (stole?) a section of a speech by Neil Kinnock, the British Labour leader (a great man too, btw). He attracted holy hell for that, apologized, and dropped out of the race.

19. I believe he also plagerized a paper
when he was in college, so there were 2 incidents.

9. Convicted? Huh?
I don't know about you, but Joe Biden's word carries a hell of a lot more weight with me than most other people's, and a hell of a lot more than Bush's.

16. Really?
Congress took action against him? I know nothing about that. You have a cite?

As I understand it, all that happened was Biden had been citing Kinnock time and time again in his speeches. He got tired, after months of campaigning, and maybe even lazy, and he forgot to do it. So what?

21. Rooting for Bush??
Or chronically depressed? I'll get this post booted for that. Seriously, have you had a positive thing to say about this election? If you did, I missed it.

6. But that doesn't help against right-wing logic
In their minds, the fact that these foreign leaders dislike Bush means that they're anti-American. The fact that John Kerry welcomes the support of anti-American foreigners makes him just another Hanoi Jane. And the fact that those anti-American foreigners are rooting for Kerry means that his election would be a victory for the terrorists.

So having Kerry's statement be true is actually worse than if it were false. He's not just boasting -- he's admitting to treason.

Right?

10. Nah, don't worry
We're not going after the 35% who have already decided to go for Bush*. It's the other two thirds. The ones who say the country is headed inthe wrong direction.

And don't ever combine the words "right-wing" and "logic" again. Shame on you! :-)

14. I was thinking in the sense of, "That's logic, as I know and use it"
James Thurber, "The Thirteen Clocks."

(Wonderful book. Does anyone else remember it?)

13. Biden needs to get on-message
He (and Kerry) are really blowing the "more" vs. "foreign" leaders thing.

Instead of confirming it, Biden should just say Kerry was misquoted, and move on to policy issues that are Kerry's strength.
