Obama supporters, help us understand this public financing furor?
All across the board this weekend, we had Team Obama savaging Clinton for agreeing with McCain regarding Obama taking public financing in the general election, were he the Democratic candidate.

Across the DU, Hillary Clinton has been called a traitor, a sell-out, a Machiavellian plotting an Obama defeat so she can run again in 2012, and so on. For, essentially, agreeing with on an issue with McCain in opposition to Obama.

:dilemma:

Now one problem we have here is that of a logical fallacy. Just because we do not like a person does not make every position that that person holds unlikable by association. Getting the gobs of corporate money out of elections is purported to be a quite liberal/progressive ideal, so why the sudden and vehement opposition now?

The other problem here is with the "traitor" remarks. Now, isn't one of Mr. Obama's main campaign themes is one of change, or letting go of past acrimonies, or reaching across to work with those of opposing views, etc..? Well, why is Clinton savaged for agreeing with John McCain on something? Seems like these attacks are attacking her for siding with "the enemy", which was something that he was supposed to be wanting to get away from?

So, what's the story?

1. Clinton needs to concede before she can criticize
Clinton's agreement is siding with republicans in an attack of a democrat. Not the first time.
Clinton does not agree with the pledge that she is criticizing Obama for not taking.
Obama will only take the pledge if he is the nominee with an enforceable agreement with McCain.
Obama's contributions are not corporate money, so he is getting corporations out of the election

3. Nice try...
Repukes say Hilary is divisive, so does BO...what's your defense of that?

BO said he would take the pledge, but is now saying he wont'...he's flopped on the issue...and for your information, if Hilary is running against BO, and he comes across as someone who won't keep a pledge, she can bring that up...regardless of who else is saying that.

BO has tkae coporate money and will continue to do so..stop acting like his dimes and nickles are somehow purer than anyone else's.

6. Repukes are paid to divide democrats
Thats how they win. Hillary and BO are the tools of the trade. Hillary is a cottage industry. When Hillary takes sides with the republican bully it gives encouragement.
Lets stand together against republicans not with em.

4. Actually Obama would be better off to come clean today, in his world of media free passes.

Break The Public Financing Pledge Now Sen. Obama

5. Obama is not the nominee yet.
If he becomes the nominee, Obama will seek an agreement with McCain over public financing. This is what he said last year. This is what he said this year.

So far, there is no agreement between the campaigns. Obama has not gone back on some imaginary pledge.

Hillary using this line of attack with McCain is weird since she's basically conceding Obama will be the nominee.

Whatever floats her boat I guess.
