One reason why Obama is doing better than Clinton
I just checked both official campaign Web sites for events within 100 miles of my home--Western Pa very near Ohio.

Clinton events: 0
Obama events: 33

1. It's the same all over the country.
Somebody did thorough state by state analysis and even I was surprised at how bungled the campaign's been.

7. Yep
I just did another search for events near Columbus--dead center of the Ohio.

Clinton: 9 (one of the listed "events" was "Online Donations for Hillary '08!" and one was a request for housing for staffers.)

Obama: 64

Obama's definitely has the organization.

22. his website is awesome!
very professional and with-it, graphic wise.

Hillary's is okay, but it's just the regular cranked out template. unexciting, uninspiring. uncreative.

funny, that.

5. 'the Clinton forces "get to every state later. They spend less. They don't get the best people."'
But a funny thing happened on the way to the victory podium at the Democratic National Convention. While Clinton was busy running as a pseudo incumbent, Obama donned the mantle of change and built a fund-raising and ground operation that has proved superior to hers by almost every measure. As a veteran of Democratic presidential campaigns who is not affiliated with any candidate this time around puts it, the Clinton forces "get to every state later. They spend less. They don't get the best people."

17. Flashback to December: "Obama's a rookie"

"Who has never run a national campaign. The formidable Clinton machine is going to squash him."

Though now that I think of it, the ones pushing that point repeatedly are pretty much the Clinton supporters now taking a hiatus from DU for the primary. Once inevitable became maybe they did not have anything left.

33. But it's true. He does have ten times the supporters. Talking worker bees, not keyboard warriors.
Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 06:14 PM by TexasObserver
And he definitely has five times the PRIMARY money Hillary has. She's almost broke on the Primary side. She can't use most of the money she has left, because it's from maxed out contributors who have given to her general election fund. Yes, he has ten times the worker bees and five times the ready money for primaries.

And she has NO ORGANIZATION in many states, in fact, in most states. She tried a Queen's gambit for a Feb 5th finish, and she lost.

15. Clinton only does staged events. It takes time to hire all those people.
I think they call it "parking."

Obama doesn't have to hire his supporters like Clinton and Bush do.

26. Takes more than time. It takes supporters.
From what I'm reading out of Ohio, it looks like there's a huge wave of supporters coming out for his ground game. These poll numbers will be about as relevant as Betamax come time to vote.

Ohio, Texas, and Florida just don't give me good vibes for some reason.

Even w/ Hillary winning, do you see large margins for her? or slim wins?

When I heard that Obama organized 1000 house parties in ONE NIGHT in Iowa, I couldn't believe it. His organization is awesome.

34. The reason is:
media hype on television and leftwing radio which has been very surprising and they tried to pretend they were unbiased for a little while, but you could tell.
