I know why Huckabee, while having less delegates than Romney, didn't quit, while Romney did:

1. i think it's an agangement between him and McCain

to keep McCain in the news so he doesn't totally get blacked out by the media. Romney had to drop out because he could have still kept McCain from getting the delegates he needed to secure the nomination, but Huckabee couldn't.

So even though McCain isn't getting the best press right now, his name is still in the news, and he still gets covered on election days. thanks to Huckabee.

The GOP wouldn't be getting any attention at all if Huckabee dropped out. They hardly are now.

2. An Excellent Point. Hadn't Thought of That

I imagined it was an egotistical attempt to squeeze out a VP spot, considering that McCain takes hourly hits on his lack of conservative credentials. But it is absolutely true that it does keep the horse-race crazy media reporting victory after victory for McCain. And being called a winner week after week has to create some sort of subliminal effect. I know its been working for Obama.

3. Huck is running for VP at this point...and he might get it!

McCain would be wise to nominate a woman VP if Hillary gets the nod, someone like Liz Dole. But it is looking increasingly like it will be Obama. Huckabee would solidify the ticket with the religious right. McCain/Huckabee would be a formidable ticket. Obama could beat it, particularly with a VP strong on foreign policy, like Clark.

Hillary would be a lost cause against McCain. She would have to reinvent her entire campaign. She could not use experience....so what else is she campaigning on?
