Misdirection and Leadership
The common wisdom for people running for national office is to be either a chameleon or a secret agent to your base or both.

And in the past thirty years of post Reaganism that has made sense in a cynical way.
Adding triangulation to it, the Clinton hallmark, sadly seemed to potentiate the cynicism.

What I would say to both candidates is that a frontal assault on faux conservatism and talking snake religion inspired policy is actually the most effective. Taking the high ground against these lying traitors is not just smart, it is the right thing to do.

We don't need to avoid offending the right. They have fucked America up.
We need to say to them, if you want to help fix the problem, we will give you props, otherwise STFU.

Corporatism equals Enron and Exxon. Representatives of the corporate world who would like to make worthwhile suggestions on oversight will get a listen, but no defenses of corporate personhood will be entertained.

The age of offshoring is over. Any agreements ending with the letters T and A are currently invalid. It is time to make sure Bush is the last 20th century president.

That is what 21st century leadership is going to look like.
