When it's down to the wire McCain will slightly win males and badly lose females
The election will be about the economy when it comes down to the wire, provided both candidates are trusted on national security (Obama will have trouble there). When it's down to the wire between Clinton and McCain, the economy will be the top issue. Males will probably still go with the Republican by a small margin despite Clinton's advantage on the economy but females will go with Clinton by a significant margin.

9. Males usually favor Republicans for President
Especially white males. It has been 40+ years since the Dems have won a majority of the male vote.

Democrats have won the presidency by getting the majority of females, racial/ethnic minorities, and enough white males to make a majority.

We don't need to get the majority of the male vote to win, especially since there are now more women than men in the country. We just need to get enough of them.
