Just remember when you cast your vote--there are NO heroes
There is NOT any one candidate that is going to swoop in and save us from this mess.
At best, maybe they can stop the hemorrhaging, but at the end of the day, we are ALL going to bleed.
This country is bankrupt--morally and financially.
At the end of the day, there won't be any heroes.
Which candidate is willing to put the goal markers back in place?
It has to be done--because we need a TRUE assessment but politically, it will be bad.
Bush and his band of merry criminals have changed the rules on how they count the dead in Iraq, recruitment numbers, the deficit, unemployment figures, etc...
We have to have a better accounting of things and take the book-cooking numbers away. They are false and everyone knows they are false.
Will Obama do it?
Will Hillary do it?
I haven't seen anyone talk about it but one thing is certain.
There has to be a full-fledge financial audit of this country in order to survey the REAL damage from Bushco.
Oh and by the way?
Are they planning on changing the locks to the WH when these criminals leave?

1. Don't Hope. Don't Believe. Stay Cynical. Feed the hate.
Bullshit. I reject that on it's face. If that's the best the Clinton supporters can come up with, then that says it all.

NO, they are not all the same.

2. Cynicism is entirely justified
All the high-minded rhetoric will be forgotten when Obama breaks every last one of his campaign promises. As will Hillary or McCain or anybody else for that matter. Even Edwards or Kucinich would break theirs too.

I don't want hope. I can't eat it; I can't pay my taxes with it. You do not get universal health care or get out of Iraq with hope and a prayer.

6. No, WE get those things
By joining together, in EVERY STATE, to Change Minds to Change Votes. I've been saying it for years. Nothing is going to change if you keep talking to the same 20% of Americans.

4. You can believe but you also have to have a reality check
If you think that Obama can fix all that is wrong immediately upon entering the White House...all I can say is "wow".
It doesn't matter who you support. People are putting these candidates on pedestals and it will be a long way to fall if their believers cannot even acknowledge the mess that this country is in and the monumental task that it is going to be to even put it on the right track.

By the way, I am NOT a Clinton supporter and I don't drink Koolaid of ANY variety.

5. Of course it's a monumental task
But being bitter and cynical doesn't make it any easier. I'm sick of it. Nobody does the things that need to be done because of deep cynicism and hopelessness. Somebody is finally asking for the help of every single person to make these changes, for the long haul, and there are people who prefer to put the fire out before it even gets started. If you don't want to join in, sit down and get out of the way.

9. So you "believe" that every republican is going to line up
and help save this country? Every single one is going to follow Obama like a fucking pied piper as he leads them through the village cleaning up the many messes of George Bush? We will all stand as one...blah blah blah.
I'm not into fairy tales...I'm into reality. It's not going to happen and it isn't my fault. I will continue to do what I do--in the reality based community.
How fucking pretentious to tell me to "sit down and shut up"...when you are supporting the "candidate of change".
In other words...if I don't subscribe to YOUR koolaid, then what I have to say isn't of value.
"Welcome to Obamanation. We don't welcome anyone that doesn't drink koolaid or doesn't wear rose-colored glasses. Pick yours up at the door".:puke:

12. The reality is that people make the changes
The only way we're ever going to change the minds of people all over the country is if real people in every part of the country stand up for what they believe in. That has ALWAYS been true. The reason right wing radicals are running the show is because they've intimidated so many people into silence. The only way these sections of the country are going to change is if people find strength in numbers to speak up for common liberal values. Obama is bringing people together to do that.

DUers are always saying that there are more Democrats than Republicans, more people who should be Democrats. Well somebody is finally bringing them all out of the woodwork, and you want to call that drinking the Koolaid. No, the problem is you'd rather drink the bitter poison of cynicism because somebody is doing what you could not, and doing it while saying "jesus" which really pisses you off. That's the problem.

13. Wow what a fucking smug attitude
You know not what you speak of.
This has to be a milestone for me.
I'm putting one of my previously favorite DU'ers on ignore.
Save your venom. You might need it to survive and defend your messiah.

3. I've gotten into a world of trouble for trying to point out
that politicians are not only human but flawed.

Do not get between people and their idealizations.

That'll teach me to start a post expressing doubts. I think I'll stay in the photo group until December.

11. I will cast my vote...
for our party's nominee, even though I may have to hold my nose in the booth. Hope? Mine is pretty much down the toilet, the same as what Bushco has done to our country and the world. Flushed!!:hurts:
