To all those that are concerned about Michigan and Florida not having a say....

Were you also concerned in past elections when states like my home state of North Carolina had absolutely no say in either the nominating process or the general election? Did you care about the states in the back of the nominating calendar that didn't get even 1/1000th the attention and say that states like Iowa and New Hampshire received in the past?

As a resident of North Carolina who STILL doesn't know for absolute certainty whether his vote will matter for the nomination because we don't have our primary until early May, I am finding it difficult to muster up enough sympathy for Michigan and Florida.

Voters like me have been disenfranchised in a de facto way from the process for decades now. Why wasn't anyone ever concerned for us?

I never felt like my primary vote mattered until this year, when Illinois moved up to Super Tuesday.

That said, it's been a long time since we had a primary that was this heavily contested. I think every state will have some influence this year (with the possible exception of FL and MI).
