Obama Supporters, Let's Not Gloat. Let's Keep it Positive.
Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 12:28 PM by Kristi1696
Hillary is a formidable candidate. Search yourselves, you know it to be true. Now, of course there are things that we don't like about her or the way that her campaign has been run, but she has been a strong force in the Democratic party. And there is honor in that.

-however-

Obama is on the move. Obama is making this happen. But we still have a long way to go.

Let's not spoil this moment by focusing on the negatives. Let's focus on the positivity of this moment. Our country is coming together to support this man (and this woman, in Michelle).

This is a beautiful thing. Let's keep it that way.

(Sorry if this sounds preachy. I'm a little emotional today, please forgive me. I feel that our country may be on the brink of doing something so profound that, yeah, I'm a little teary)

1. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but...gloat about what? Obama has an uphill battle
even if he does well tomorrow. I have no big expectations. I suggest you do the same.

4. There have been a lot of polls today showing crazy momentum...
There is the news that Hillary's campaign is running out of money.

And I think that a lot of people are reading defeat into Hillary's tears.

And yes, no matter if he doesn't win a single state tomorrow, the election itself is profound for our country.

But I have good, good feelings about tomorrow.

8. I have cautious feelings about tomorrow--NH still stings. High expectations, then crushing
disappointment--I'm like the rat that was burned once, I guess.

9. I'm taking a big leap of faith...
...and trying to leave my cynicism behind.

I'm really glad that I'll be volunteering all day tomorrow. That way I won't be able to obsess over what's happening. If I get crushed, it will be all at once.

3. We haven't won anything yet, we have no room to gloat
I doubt that Super Tuesday will have decided the race. I suspect that this will go all the way to the convention. That being said, if/when Obama wins the nomination I won't gloat then either. I totally have respect for Hillary and most of her supporters.

7. Thanks, I edited my post...
Lest it seem that I was gloating myself.

5. Right, gloating is in poor taste. There's feelings behind the words and as
they say, any one of the (D)'s is better than those (R)'s.

When the nominee is chosen, we need to all come together. We've got damage to fix and a Supreme Court to move back from far-right extremism.

No reason to gloat. And gloating brings bad luck.

13. No worries - GOTV!
I've been phone banking all weekend and am off to do same today.

The sniveling and kvetching and the hurling of epithets on DU is tiresome.

Gobama.

I'm so happy that I signed up to GOTV tomorrow. I won't be anywhere near a computer, thank God.

19. Everyone
I agree with the OP. Let's work together and help Obama win this thing! If your state is not voting tomorrow, go to Obama's site to get phone numbers to call for him. I'm going to get some CA numbers today since I have unlimited long distance. Those of you that are in a Super Tuesday state PLEASE help out as much as you can. I'm waiting to hear back from the Obama campaign about helping this weekend for Virginia. We have to stay positive!
