Wal-Mart Politics
I was checking out of wallyworld tonight. (I know, I shouldn't shop there, but...alas...I have 5 kids, I need cheap.) The lady at the checkout noticed that I had bought our local paper with information about the primaries on the first page.

"Did you know that this year there are no republicans? We only have democrats running against each other for president."

"ummm, do you mean the primaries that we are voting in on Tuesday?"

"No, the election. This year there are two democrats and no republicans."

"No, there are no republicans this year, only democrats."

I was totally baffled.

I brushed it off and said "yes, it's very exciting this year. We are deciding which democrat and which republican will be running for president. It is historic to have a black man and a woman running for the democrats...that really is something neat."

"Well, don't you go voting for that Hillary just 'cuz she's a woman."

"Oh, ok. Thank you very much for your opinion."

Ummmm...Wow...there are actually people VOTING on Tuesday who think they are voting in a general election with dems running against each other. I can't believe it.

1. She's echoing Rush, Coulter, and Hannity.
They are screeching like banshees that McCain is a liberal.

2. She didn't know
that this isn't the general election on Tuesday. Holy crap...who thinks that two democratic candidates are running against each other in a general election...that just slays me.
