On Keith Craig Crawford see's John Edwards as a possible Obama VP
but not necessarily for Hillary, much more Evan Bayh for her--he says. What do you think?

2. What's interesting, KO asked him to give one potential VP. He said Barack would
probably go with a white male. Edwards was the only one he mentioned. He also said Richardson is out there, probably for Clinton.

My initial dream ticket was Gore/Obama, with Obama/Edwards second choice. Sounds great to me!

3. Hillary had better effin' pick Clark if she knows what's good for her.

edit to add--Edwards won't be on anyone's ticket. But he WILL be in a cabinet post.

5. Evan did an interview earlier this week for one of those news shows
and he gushed Hillary. Its been known for some time he would be on her short list.

8. Not as likely
as Attorney General or some other position that gives him the ability to do the type of work that is most important to him.

9. I think this is fantasy
It doesn't seem like being VP is what he is after. Some of Keith's so-called experts haven't been too good tonight.

10. I can make very few guarantees in life, but one of them is that Edwards will never again be a VP

candidate on the Democratic ticket.

Especially with Obama, you don't run a campaign based on change and then air reruns.

He would be lambasted as the Dems perennial VP candidate and the whole thing would just be a joke.

Obama would be an idiot to offer, and Edwards an idiot to accept.

12. Richardson has been trying out for the position for over a year.
I would guess that Obama picks a white guy with national security credibility, someone like a Biden wouldn't surprise me.

13. I've never understood the Evan Bayh attraction.
He is the opposite of the good VP candidate to help the ticket. He's not dynamic. He can't hold a listener's attention for three minutes. He's from Indiana - that's the big selling point.

We live in an era where the people become product names. Edwards has name ID and face ID. He has tremendous support among the activists in the party, among those who dedicate themselves not just to the party, but the causes. I think Edwards is THE natural choice to run with Obama or Hillary, but that's me. The VP will need to motivate the party regulars while the candidate for president will have to carry the brunt of appealing to the indies and party voters who have to be motivated to vote Democrat.
