The Al Qaeda Card: "Hillary Heightens Terrorism Rhetoric" or "4 More Years of Fear"
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 05:18 PM by Bonobo
http://www.boston.com/news/politics/politicalintelligence/2008/01/clinton_heighte.html

Hillary was quoted as saying: “I don’t think it was by accident that Al Qaeda decided to test the new prime minister,” she said. “They watch our elections as closely as we do, maybe more closely than some of our fellows citizens do…. Let’s not forget you’re hiring a president not just to do what a candidate says during the election, you want a president to be there when the chips are down.”

Compare this to similar comments made by Bush, Rumsfeld, Rice.

Haven't we had enough of the Fear Card?

I for one am tired of being manipulated into allowing them to spend more and more of our national treasure on the military, the prison complex, the war-machine and the status quo that has made allowed Multi-national Corporations that took away our jobs and livelihoods, to flourish.

We need a new model for how to make America work again. The Clinton Co-Presidency is many things, but CHANGE is not one of them.

1. She showed how she responds to a terrorist attack on our soil
Did exactly what the neo-con warmongers wanted.

4. Change is not one of them?
Yeah, I can see HC appointing a Justice Alito or starting a war for no reason or banning stem cell research or trying to make gay marriage unconstitutional or any of the dozens of idiotic things Bush has done.

She made a valid point. It isn't fear-mongering to point out that danger exists.

9. The same reason John Edwards, John Kerry, Chris Dodd, and Joe Biden did
Every last friggin one of them is a blood thirsty vampire who get off on sending our youth off to die for the entertainment value of it all.

Is that the answer you want?

16. i thought it was to look as tough as the Repos and for the oil. I didn't realize
sadistic pleasure had anything to do with it, but perhaps you are on to something about Hill.

17. Not just her obviously. We need a revolution against
the Kerrys and Bidens and Dodds of the world also. Each and every one of them love war, crave war, and are desperate to start wars and kill lots of people. Edwards used to be one of them too.

24. Oh, i though all except Hill had expressed deep regret for their votes. Hill said she was still
on board and would gladly do it again.

7. Thank God Obama never plays the Al-Qaida card
"I understand that President Musharraf has his own challenges," Obama said. "But let me make this clear. There are terrorists holed up in those mountains who murdered 3,000 Americans. They are plotting to strike again. ... If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf will not act, we will."

if we don't elect a Democrat.

Unless you think it's an accident that we were attacked on 9/11 BECAUSE we had another Bush in the WH

is that Osama Bin Laden (or whoever actually did 911 --I remain unconvinced) wouldn't have attacked a Gore Presidency.

15. You know damn well that's not what happened.
She voted for authorization only based on the President's promise that it was for negotiation purposes and would be used as a last resort.

The measure would have passed with no D votes. There was no reason for her to walk into a trap to be hit over the head during the election a few days later for being soft on terrorism. Like it or not, the public wanted that resolution.

21. You mean she was foolish enough to trust Bush? Bullshit! That's called covering your ass.
She is motivated by the need to show she is not the weak, liberal hippie-woman that the Republicans blasted her for.

She will continue to be motivated to prove she is not weak. Too bad for us.

23. She voted FOR the resolution. The blood is on HER hands. There is no other intellectually honest way
...to frame it...

She KNEW this would lead to war and she voted for it anyway because she was SCARED to take a stand...

FUCK.THAT.

That is a fact and anyone who is "intellectually honest" knows that.
