38. Hey, buddy.
My condolences to you and the utter disappointment you are feeling today. Please know that I will forever be grateful to John Edwards for the integrity and grace with which he ran his campaign. He conducted himself as a gentleman. Hopefully the thrust of his platform will be incorporated into the rest of the campaign, and we will all be better off for that.

With my best regards.
AK

24. Excellent Point!
Based on the overwhelming opinion I've seen at DU over the months (which I happen to share), there is NO WAY it would be this close of a split. Obama by a landslide (again, since the only choices in the poll are Hillary/Obama).

PS---For people who *truly* (as opposed to fakers driving up the poll results) supported JE and are now turning to Hillary (a baffling proposition in my mind) I have to ask if they pay attention to who is involved in the different campaigns? There are issues with BOTH Obama and Hillary, (which is why I donated to JE three times including once last week, so please no tired speech on how they both suck), but there *are* differences IMO. And one, again, is the company they currently keep. Obama's may not be perfect but it's better.

Obama supporters are enchanted by his charisma, eloquence and skin color and share his disdain to anyone who does not agree with them.

Interesting that some of his posters - as I saw earlier on CNN - carry his typical arrogant face tilted upward, avoiding any eye contact, showing contempt to everyone around him.

I would ask Obama supporters "where is the beef" but I doubt that I will get any straight answer.

And some of us do not need a candidate who want to "reach" to evangelicals. We can just vote for Huckabee, instead. He has yet to explain what kind of "reach" he expects, since people who think that god talk to them directly are convinced that their is the only absolute truth.

Next, women who seek to terminate their pregnancy do not need yet another man to patronize them, like Justice Kennedy, to expect them to make this decision "prayerly."

Last, some of us realize that we are part of the whole world, where there are dictators and murderers who will laugh at a face of an American president who will just say please, and ask them to behave nicely and to accept Jesus as their savior. We've seen Carter failing in this miserably.

Oh, yes, I was an Edwards supporter from 2004. Two days ago I braved a -11 temp (-30 wind chill) to travel across town to shake his hand and, yes, to have his assurance that he was there to stay..

18. As someone who chose Obama, I'd really like to understand the reasoning of those choosing Clinton.
As an Edwards supporter from the beginning, between the two remaining candidates, it sure seems like Hillary is about as far away from Edwards as you can humanly get...... ?

Honestly, I don't care who gets the nomination now. Neither Clinton nor Obama interest me at all. I'll vote for the nominee in the General, but I will not promote either one of them, and I won't work for them in the General.

There's lots of other ways for me to stay involved without supporting either Clinton or Obama in the General.

They both suck equally.

21. I no longer care. Sens. Clinton and Obama have the same basic
platform, neither of which addresses the most critical issue of our time.

And I have no confidence that either one of them can beat McCain.

I'll vote for whoever wins the nomination. But for the first time in my adult life, I probably will not vote for a presidential candidate in the Democratic primary.

you think your candidate can do it? bully. i don't think so. it will be 8 more years of more of the same ... only in 8 more years there will be how many more in poverty? how many without healthcare? how many more vets sleeping under bridges? if you think these issues can be solved on a local level you must be high on drugs.

28. Maybe only on the state and local level, unless one of the current candidates
distinguishes themself from the other by taking a strong pro-democracy position advocating taking back control of our government from transnational global corporations.

44. PLEASE NOTE:
There are plenty of HRC and Obama supporters who are only too happy to vote in this poll. There may be some Edwards supporters who are willing to do so. HOWEVER at this moment in time I think the great MAJORITY of Edwards supporters will bypass this poll, or look but not vote. So take the results with a huge grain of salt.
