PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULDN'T THROW STONES

- "Those who are vulnerable should not attack others. The proverb has been traced back to Geoffrey Chaucer's 'Troilus and Criseyde' (1385). George Herbert wrote in 1651: 'Whose house is of glass, must not throw stones at another.' This saying is first cited in the United States in 'William & Mary College Quarterly' (1710). Twenty-six later Benjamin Franklin wrote, 'Don't throw stones at your neighbors', if your own windows are glass.' 'To live in a glass house' is used as a figure of speech referring to vulnerability." From "Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings" (1996) by Gregory Y. Titelman (Random House, New York, 1996).

7. Florida now Matters to Obama
Out of Florida, The Buzz picked up on a quote by an Obama strategist that tipped off the plan for Obama to compete in the upcoming primary of Florida:

"Advisers to Barack Obama are increasingly convinced that the fight for the Democratic presidential nomination will continue past February 5, when 24 states will hold nominating contests, including California, New York, and New Jersey. "It will not be finished February 5," says a senior Obama strategist. But he admits that a lot depends on the outcome of the South Carolina primary for the Democrats on January 26. If Obama wins there, he will revive his momentum going into the Florida primary January 29 and Mega Tuesday on February 5. Then the battle will move to the contests of mid- and late February and early March.

8. Need to become acquainted with E Kant's "Categorical Imperative":
Behavior should be guided by the principle that one's actions should always be of a type the principle of which one could want to be a universal principle for all behavior - is an example of a natural ethos realisticly and functionally pragmatic, and based in the Golden Rule.

9. I keep saying, "God punishes gloaters."
Let's all pay close attention to that, okay? Hillary won Florida, but there are no delegates involved...and there shouldn't be. This primary idiocy has to stop. We have no other mechanism in place to stop it.

I sincerely hope that Super Tuesday brings a solid victory to Hillary Clinton, but I can never discount the power and appeal of Oprah and the Kennedys. I don't discount the slavish adoration of Obama, either. It's creepy but it gets votes.

So I don't know what will happen. But if it turns out my way, I won't gloat, either. Because I know it means more evil, more insults, more viciousness piled on. But if she has the courage to go thru it, I have the courage to stand up for her.

There's nothing to gloat about in this election. Whoever wins has a mess to clean up that makes the Augean Stables look tidy and sanitary. And it has to be done in the context of democracy which is a whole other kind of mess.

If Obama and not Hillary becomes president, I know I will find the tiniest consolation in the impatient screams of Obama supporters "Stop talking and do it, already!" when they come face to face with actually passing legislation or making Obama's vague "hope" into some kind of reality, none of which they seem able to articulate currently.
