Imus: If I Had Made The Jesse Jackson Comparison, I'd Be Talking To Sharpton
I'm not a fan of Imus, but he sure has a point with the careless (and some say racist) statement by Bill Clinton that Obama's stunning trouncing in South Carolina was on par with Jesse Jackson.

10. Bill was citing an historical fact.
Black voters turned out for Jackson in 88 and they turned out for Obama in 2008. Calling that a racially divisive comment is what those who want a reason to further slime the Clintons to keep repeating. I am amazed that so many African Americans buy this bullshit too.

11. It Was a Minimizing Comparison to Someone Who Could Not Get Beyond Black Votes
Obama's win in whitebread Iowa and competitive losses in New Hampshire and Nevada would eliminate the historical parallel.

It was a cheap shot intended not to inform, but to inspire fear and division.

7. Yeah, I agree with Imus here.
He was castigated for making remarks that were less offensive than some of the other people were making 2 weeks ago.

By Bill concentrating his remarks solely to Jesse Jackson's win in SC, I think it means that Bill only sees Obama as a black man, and that's a shame.

12. That's a funny line! But...
I think nappy headed hos is probably a tad worse than comparing Obama's win to Jesse's.
