Why was it BILL Clinton who called Ted Kennedy and not his wife, the CANDIDATE?
And why was it BILL Clinton who gave the initial speech after HILLARY'S S.C. loss to Obama? It's apparent that Hillary needs her husband to "help" her...poor thing. She's certainly not ready to be president.

5. Exactly. So she wouln't be the first female president. She'd be the first spouse again, only this
time she'd be the one with the title "President." Women voting for her "because she's a woman" should keep in mind she's a woman who needs a man.

you might've noticed that I'm one of the few people here that spends more time DEFENDING Democrats than tearing them down. Your advice is absurd.

And yes, you should explain. Are you saying that SOME offensive, childish pictures are OK but others aren't? Who gets to decide?

From where I'm sitting, you object to my picture because it offends YOU personally, and you're not giving any regard to others who might be offended by other pictures.

So tell me where the line is, and who gets to decide.

I'm saying that there's a difference between "childish" and "offensive."

Combining two people who are married is childish. Combining two people in which one is an enemy to all Americans is offensive.

The news just broadcast Big Dog while he was at a rally because they probably knew folks like you would say that Bill was giving Hill's concession speech. And Big Dog called Kennedy because he's campaigning for his wife and he have known Kennedy for a long time. What's your problem with that?

i was shocked and totally dismayed by the MSM on Sat. night, I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing, they are completely in BO's corner, it was sad to see such partisinship. They are making Bill Clinton out to be some hate/ragemonger when it's completely untrue.

and I'm an Edwards supporter!

perhaps they feel they can do this
a. because they know he's way behind in all the big Super Tuesday states that count, (I'm not talking about Alabama or some red state that won't help us , you know, like open primary South Carolina where many republicons voted for who they felt was the weakest canadate)
b. b/c his supporters tend to be younger and newer to the political scene and will eat this bias up?
c. b/c they know he's a paper tiger who has been propped up ---he's only won in 2 red states one of which has an open primary and the other has a caucus system.

and that's not saying she CAN'T do it on her own, but it APPEARS she needs her husband's help by the role he's playing in her campaign. She sends HIM to get votes in S.C., has HIM call Kennedy asking him not to endorse Obama, has HIM attacking Obama, etc.

She'd be doing better IMO if she ran WITHOUT his "help."

15. Sorry, but it has nothing to do with the fact she may be ready to be president.
It has to do with the overshadowing, over the line actions of her husband.

22. Cali, you need to stop
People are allowed to call the race as they see it, and they don't need you stepping in to be their nanny.

30. But we are ALL supposed to be Democrats
and this childish in-fighting is doing nothing to ensure that a Democrat will reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue next year, which SHOULD be the REAL goal of every last person here at DU.

37. Thats all well and good, but not during the primarys
You have two viable candidates with two different groups of supporters and two different sets of ideals. Either you hash it out now, or you splinter the party for good.

53. This is the PRIMARY. We ARE all Dems. And we all have different opinions about which
Dem. is the BEST Dem. to be our nominee.

But maybe you're right-let's just stop all the in-fighting and get behind Obama!

102. Indeed. We're free to express our opinions and Jenito is free to disagree
with our reaction.

I had the same one you did, actually. I think it's good to show that even as Obama supporters we can stand up for a different candidate if we don't like something.

19. Sorry, but I'm not trying to help my candidate. I'm pointing out what I see happening with
the Clintons and it's VERY unusual, and not in a GOOD way. Bill should let Hillary run for president. Instead, it sure looks like HE'S running for president-again.

23. That's how it works. The CANDIDATES seek/ask for people's endorsements. I've heard
candidates say MANY times that they've asked someone for their endorsement.

97. "Initial" meaning "first." Bill gave the initial speech and he conceded just as Hillary later did.
Since when does the spouse of a candidate give a speech right after their spouse, the CANDIDATE, didn't win???

69. If Hillary had done well in South Carolina, the Clinton team would be talked of as "geniuses"
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 01:16 PM by CreekDog
that didn't happen, ergo, all the criticism of the past 2 weeks followed by a humiliating defeat gets interpreted as repudiation of the tactics, those who used them and those who were in control.

that's the way it goes. they are pros, they've played this game.

too freakin' bad they get criticized when it turns out this way.

99. I agree. This is the Clintons' game. They lower expectations, try their hardest to win no matter
how nasty the tactics, and then blame the media or try to minimize the importance of their loss, or claim "unbelievable comeback" if they win or even come close.

Yes. They deserve all the criticism they get.
