It is a PR stunt, that's for sure. What are your thoughts?

it's tradition. It's a little touch of graciousness, and in a world deeply lacking such touches, I welcome it.

Kerry's big day. I buy that. I wonder who leaked this info. Somehow I doubt it was the Kerry campaign.

6. False, hollow, meaningless.
It's like the child whose mother FORCES him to send thank you notes. A gesture like that is not sincere, it's a chore that's completed ONLY to keep someone from nagging about it.

...I'd pay serious money to find out what was said between them. I tend to doubt it was a rousing "Don't scuff up my desk with your Legos, bitch" sort of moment, but it would be fascinating nonetheless.

10. slick move. bush gets mentioned on kerry's night.
if the media were neutral, and if this were a tradition, it would be a good, statesmanly thing to do.

but they're not and it isn't. bush will get painted as being a nice guy by the republican media. if at some point kerry calls to congratulate bush on winning the republican nomination, the media will slam kerry for trying to pull a cheap pr stunt.

oh well, at least this stuff is small fries. as long as shrub is seen as a miserable failure, no amount of small stunts will do him any good.

After Bush and his associates stole Florida in 2000, by purging thousands of legal voters, by asking overseas soldiers to send in ballots AFTER the election, and other fraud, we shouldn't interpret a friendly phone-call from Bush to Kerry to mean Bush won't be slimy and cheat as much as he can.

Bush will cheat as much as he can.

20. Typical
This was foretold on Crossfire this afternoon. Novak and Carlson :puke: were on about how mean and nasty the Dems are. (Implied: what a nice guy Bush is.)

Watch for this recurring theme: Dems are mean, nasty, hateful, blah, blah, blah. Repubs are gracious, congenial, warm.

22. A PR stunt
Bush is not a "gracious" guy. And did you notice that on CNN, while Kerry was speaking, the subtitle was "President Bush Called Kerry to Congratulate Him." CNN can't STAND giving some unadulterated air time to Dems.

29. Yup, the old boys from the Skull and Bones Club
It would be nice if we had at bit more choice in this country. And in a few years we will have more choice, becuase the monopolized corporate media is about to lose a whole lot of credibility because of all the official lies they repeated--and people have alternate sources through the internet.

Until then, the best we'll get is a debate between the boys of the Skull and Bones elite.

Happy Halloween, America!
